Nice poles? worth it?

What kind of poles are people using, is anyone actually playing double for carbon or composite poles? I cant imagine there's any serious performance boost. I've been buy new aluminum poles almost every season cuz I either lose them or break them. Right now I've got some hot pink Rossi poles from marketplace.

And before anyone says it: I don't care that you don't use poles, you want a fuckin medal or something?

i never buy nice poles, they are going to disappear or break either way. I usually look for old scott poles as they are pretty durable and easy to come by. I have found them at thrift stores or at sale at sporting good stores for very cheap.

I got lucky. Paid a lot for these Line Eric Pollard Poles called Mr Pollards Paint brush like over a decade ago. They're made from some insane ultra light metal that is un-bendable , unbreakable. Before that went through Poles constantly.

Scott poles have always been my go to, seem to hold up better than most. Biggest con of carbon poles is that when they break they break fr, you can’t just bend them back. Don’t see any real reason to not go with aluminum.

I really love the Line adjustable poles with the tabbed handles. I usually don't enjoy skiing with poles, but those are seriously nice, they have every little feature that make poles more convenient to ski with. I just wait for them to be like 50-60 bucks on sale when I need new ones. They're normally 100 bucks, which is insane for any poles imo.

I usually note a pair of poles that seems left unattended and track it for a few days. After about 2-3 days if that pair of poles is still there they are mine. Throw a pair of powder baskets on them and ur good, definitely affects my touring performance though.

I've snapped them but im also a dumb ass. That grab tab thing at the top makes it entirely worth it.

Not a racer, but leki poles with that clip in feature has been a game changer. I never used poles before.

Yooo for real I have a pair of line poles from around that time and they are indestructible. Broken many other poles during the time I’ve owned the line ones and they always come in clutch. Wish all my poles were that durable.

The jibstick carbon poles I have are a perceptible performance increase when whipping them around. Compared them with adjustable and the resort rental poles and they definitely have a lower swing weight and they seem pretty durable.

adjustable poles ftw. got a pair of armada ones for touring that ive been using for a couple seasons. found sum nice 90cm-ish rossi flowery lil girl’s poles last season at the local that ill use sometimes too

Just copped some 49 dollar Faction poles that are purple. I'll report back if they were worth it. So far my guess is no, and it's better to just take get poles at goodwill

I’ve had some grass stick bamboo poles for about 3 years, they are awesome.

They are insanely durable, I’ve bent several aluminum poles, and the one time I broke a stick (dumbass big sky lifts) I got a replacement for real cheap.

Id say they are worth it

I sell ski poles that i personally think are pretty sick. We have full carbon fiber poles, but we get not everyone wants to pay the higher price for that style of pole, so we have aluminum poles that we have been testing and will be up for sale in the next few weeks. Aluminum poles will be around $40 and are 7075 aluminum. We’re skier owned and love supporting the ski community where we can. https://jibsticks.com or jib.sticks on Instagram.

Nah man, snapped my adjustables and swapped to a custom. I bought extra long pole fixed aluminum pole and then put an extended grip on it and a Central Park ski club bar end and they’re perfect, cheaper too

I have some atomic adjustables. Really like being able to change the height. They have the bike grip handles. I’m not a huge fan of the shaped ones.

flat head and philips on the inside are a nice touch as well. Also a huge fan of the straps

I like my joystick poles for resort riding, they were 60 bucks nothing fancy good low profile grips and why not support a cool brand

Line makes the best poles and they’re very cheap. Grab tab and BMX grip are the best for park skiing.

I have 5 pairs of poles rn. I paid 5 dollars for 3 of them and got 2 pairs for free. I just switch poles when one bends

Just got my poles from y'all and already in love! The cork grips are actually properly-sized for those of us with larger hands, very lightweight at 198g for the 110 length, powder baskets aren't flimsy like a lot of poles in this price range, and the strap is premium. Overall great product + some dope stickers!! Really glad I took a gamble on them :)

Update: of course I broke my aluminum poles on the third run of the season.

This. I still have yet to see a set of Leki poles snapped in half; usually it’s the pole tip that breaks off but damn they’re durable poles.
