Sno.Just heard on NPR this morning that Zelensky’s approval rating in Ukraine was 57% before the meeting in the Oval Office and after the meeting it raised 20-30%. I’ve never heard of an approval rating going up that much so quickly, but obviously he had the overwhelming majority of support from his people.

I believe at first those percentages were true that the Ukrainian majority supported the war. But When you're 300K+ deaths in and realize you can't win... Do you really still support the war?

Russia started the war and US is an ally of ukraine, did you just forget this? The US is helping their ally against a fascist regime, the US supports democracy and has pumped tons of foreign aid into helping countries keep their freedom.

Also, it's a completely different result. Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt. Russia will not return Crimea to Ukraine if a peace deal is secured.

Ukrainian leader is making the decision to keep fighting and it sounded like he was ready to make a deal until nobody was willing to give him assurances that they would help prevent Russia from doing this again in the future.
Yes, the US saying we will step in if Russia invaded Ukraine in 10 years would be setting the US up for war, and I can understand Trump not wanting to drag the US directly into a war, but I can also understand Zelenski wanting that reassurance.

The deal was essentially:
Russia gets land
US gets half Ukrainian resources
Ukraine loses land and half of its resources and gets temporary peace.

If it was everlasting peace with Russia I could see the deal as a no-brainer as I think most would but that's not what it is.

This also shows Russia that it can do this in other ex Soviet countries and get away with it.

So more funding means they keep fighting. I think without our funding they crumble pretty quickly.

So yes ultimately I think it is at least partially on the USA.
