Avi Beacon with Siri Voices

saw it, seems cool, doesn't seem necessary for most

I'm waiting for a small drone with a built in beacon that will fly and land directly over the buried person/people. I know this wouldn't be ideal in many scenarios, but could be so much faster than anything out there right now.

When I briefly looked into this idea the main issue is the mechanical parts scrambling the beacon's signal. This will be a game changer when brought to reality.

Anyone with deep R&D pockets feel free to steal my idea....

Here's my idea for beacons (pls pay me):

Many times when you're out in the BC it's with a group of people. If someone gets buried and there's more than one person searching (3+ people likely necessary) then it would be fantastic if the beacons in search mode could automatically communicate with each other to triangulate exactly where the buried beacon is. With enough search beacons and searchers a bit spread out it could likely give an exact location in milliseconds.

Whoa i can actually comment on this. I am very much in the backcountry and work with guides regularly. I have the Barryvox S and the Diract Voice.
Sadly no, its this woman who talks to you and you cannot change voice, it may be a different voice in different languages but mine has remained in english.

In both real rescues and companion rescue scenarios I do like having the voice, but its more a reminder and a cue that I am in rescue mode rather than actually listening to the lady. There is one helpful cue once you are withing the fine search to begin probing but otherwise it does not replace well practiced rescue skills.

The benefits of the voice that ive found are A) it tells you you have gone into standby mode if you mistakenly entered it. and B) when you finish your group check and get someone to do a visual check of your beacon, the voice gives a novice an understanding of what mode your beacon is in.

IMO great beacon for your friend who is gonna be out 7 days a year in slackcounty with you. but not enough benefits to replace the barryvox if you are doing more purposeful touring/sledding.
