SlushSeasonYes, but it'll be less reliable. More extreme drought years and more extreme dump years
Going to end up with a bunch of ghost resorts that'll be great touring centers in the dump years but you might go an entire season or two without being able to ski unless you travel.
I think it's called climate change since 2 years ago antarctica recorded the coldest temperatures on record.
Considering the planet always goes through these cyclical changes I don't think you have much to worry about. And if you don't have bum knees you'll be skiing in 20 years no problem.

extreme high and low temperatures are a side effect of climate change, it's not a positive sign dumbass. and your cyclical argument has been completely disproven, we have never seen this extreme of weather or temperatures in the past.

eheathcool screenshotted picture, i do not care. you're trying to deny climate change, you are the dumbass.
I'm not denying climate change but he's saying global warming. You know how much C02 was in our atmosphere 100 years ago? 0.03% You know how much is in it now? 0.04%. Go ahead deny that one too dumbass.
Happy to highlight your ignorance though bud.
Make sure you listen to more media coverage about global warming bad.

Doesn't the cyclical argument sorta miss the rate of change issue? Things have gotten hot, and have gotten cold in the past, but I suppose the argument is that in the relatively more accurate data we can get for the last 2000 years it is becoming warmer much quicker than we have seen in the last 2000 or so years. The increase in the rate of change seems to happen around the time things are industrializing and we added a few billion people to the planet.
So, even if it is a cycle, it seems like something there is exasperating or accelerating it. It seems to be a pretty good guess that adding 6 billion people and all of the extra energy that comes with that into an isolated system is playing some part.
There will be skiing yes, but there will also be plenty of years where the skiing won't be very nice or even those where there will not be skiing. it will be inconsistent and industries related to it will suffer pretty hard.

It’s not CO2, it’s methane emissions that are having the biggest effect. I Was joking with my “save the world” friend of Greta about this theory that since we have warmed the planet this far to no return, we actually have to aim to raise the temperature 10 degrees now. I think the theory is because it will increase CO2 levels so drastically it will increase vegetation etc to bring world back to balance, but again we need more equilibrium between CO2 and methane emissions. And again—much wildlife even humanity can’t survive those extremes. It’s one thing to point at geological ice cores and compare greenhouse gas levels and rates of change, but that means nothing when you aren’t also considering the impact of wildlife as we aren’t plants, we need food to live.
but that ignores the fact—what do you think happens to ocean life through all of this? Nature evolves, but when change occurs at such a rapid rate, it turns into more of a KT extinction event which we’re already finding ourselves deep in the middle of. There’s so many things on top of climate change that humanity is making sure to bring ourselves to that point of flight-to-colonize space or die very quickly

We have the technology to send our atmosphere back to the ice age but that would require money from international governments and I can promise you they will not invest in it until it starts to affect them

i’ve thought that many governments wont give a fuck until it affects them or it’s too late
Bruh this global warming shi fake asl bro like lowkey the government coilda stopped it by now by taking all of the worlds fans and blowing it at the earth to cool it down or some shi
The regional models in the PNW generally just say warmer temps mean more precip and more energy in the storms. So yeah more snow at 7000’ probably, but likely a pretty wild ride at 3000-5000 feet where most of the skiing is done. We already go through storm cycles of snow, melt, refreeze, snow again at a pace so much faster and often than inland ranges I would expect that to get more drastic and unpredictable.
The other bad thing is the snowpack is critically important to the water supply. The snow is supposed to melt off slowly and fill the reservoirs steadily throughout the dry months that doesn’t work very well going into April with a 100” base and it’s gone in 3 weeks because it was 90 degrees the entire month of May.
People are encouraging Taylor Swift the biggest climate terrorist who has the largest footpring of any human to fly from Japan to Vegas and back for 6 hours or whatever the fuck though so why should anyone else change their behavior?
PeppermillRenoStill cold but winter rain really fucking sucks.

Us peasants are expected to suck on cardboard straws and recycle everything (even though recycling's been a scam for decades) while the landed gentry smother the earth in emissions flying from place to place.

Remember 'pollution' has actually been eliminated or seriously reduced in all the developed white countries so need to create a new boogeyman.
Can't be all the people that jet to davos for climate summits though.
I can confirm the water level at my beach front property in florida is the same as it was 3 years ago. Can we cut all this nonsense out please and enjoy our lives and stop listening to fear mongerers

How's your homeowners insurance looking down there these days? Looks like it might be an interesting storm season.
