How much should i worry about this? and are there any preventative measures i can take? never had an edge crack before
We put a whole new section of edge in for that fix above, only bcs it looked like this ^^. I think epoxy and a shit load of clamps would do it for you tho. I Just thought you’d like to see that you can remedy shit when it breaks and it’s not the end of the world. Fixing it can be fun lol
freestyler540Right now, its not a problem. However, it will start to peel back and start to catch. Sorry mate, the ski just got cancer
Best take on a ski getting its first edge crack I’ve seen. It truly is cancer and will never get better again. Downhill from there.
although sometimes the cancer doesn’t spread fast so you might get a lot more life… or the edge starts coming out tomorrow. Ski cancer is an unpredictable bitch.
Reviving this for similar Q on my beater skis. For something more similar to the OP's pics (mine isn't bent, just a simple crack), does throwing epoxy into the crack help extend the ski's life at all? I fully intend for my skis to die at some point, but I'm down to DIY if it gets me another 20+ ski-on-whatever-I-want days. Wondering if that's what I'll get or if it's a total waste of time

No epoxy wont make it any better and will prob fall out really quickly. Just file down the edge so it doesnt catch on anything, and both ends of the break sit nice an flush.
