Biggest pet peeve?

What is some of your biggest pet peeves when going to a resort? For me its adults who sidejump the lips (children get a pass because dont know any better, even though they should) or when anyone (skier/snowboarder) hits the back of skis in line (or on the lift) and doesn't apologize. That last one is dumb because I end up using my skis on rails or riding out onto concrete but still, its the principle. If I even tap someone's ski or snowboard I say "my bad".

So what is something that grinds your gears?

the disrespect of other people stepping on your skis/board and acting like it didnt happen is definitely top. ppl making massive slow turns across the whole run with no regard to anyone else is a close second tho

People standing around in the middle of runs who start going down without looking uphill. Coaches seriously training kids the first week of the season on tiny flat tubes.

Getting screamed at by some random woman who straightlined after me acting like she’s patrol because she “had a season pass here for 25 years” because I bombed through the moguls while she was making stem turns on the opposite side of the trail 50 feet away.

The day I learned to eurocarve some boomer told me I was skiing wrong when we got on the lift. Like fuck you, dude, we could have shot the shit for the next twelve minutes but you had to be an asshole.

At my resort the freeride team likes to "Mow the grass." Knock down all the racers poles. They deserve it for leaving their shit everywhere.

eh, gesturing people to go is just a power move. people just want to feel like they have power and that they're really good people. don't wave me on if it was my turn, i know it's my turn and you didn't "let me by". and if you're gesturing me on when it's your turn - you're really gonna do everyone behind you in line like that so you can feel good about yourself for 1 second?

same thing with driving except when people are being overly polite it's usually creating traffic hazards.

Rparrhonestly the overwhelming quantity of wooks ruins timberline for me in a way. I'm very tired of the crowd after going there the the last 6 spring passes. They literally stink in the lift line on a sunny day because the vast majority of them live in the woods and do not bathe


I'm glad I'm not the only one. I used to religiously buy a T-line spring pass to extend my season. Now I just run it out at Meadows and get on with spring living.

21CABBAGEPeople be smokin in the lift lines like crazy at Hood, especially at Timberline where 80% of the people on the hill are under the age of 13. one time at meadows this guy was absolutely blazed in the lift line and fell down, he dropped like 8 pre rolls and after picking them all up himself, he accused me of stealing a few of them. He tried to fight me at the top of the lift, after I called him retarded and told him to take it easy (I was in 8th grade). He was clutching my jacket the whole damn time and ripped the waist synch out when he fell while trying to tackle me. I skied out of there as quick as I could. I get that smoking and skiing is fun but y'all gotta chill out, can't be fighting kids.


I live at hood and smoke fat in the lines and on the lift, gotta stay in the flow state. Only spliffs tho no greens.

Well if they’re down hard and hurt then okay, but I hate when someone falls on a feature and sits there trying to get a laugh or sympathy from a friend. Get out of the landing as soon as you can

Yea park skis take a beating, I've never cared about people running them over. Mute grabs naturally scrape the top sheets anyway. But if you're not into park then I guess you have more of a reason to be upset about it.

lol SteezyYeeter just wrong. it’s not like traffic bro there’s hundreds of pages of traffic laws and an entire gov agency dedicated to enforcing them.

park is simple, and weastcoast is right (contextually). if you’re clicked in and “in front of me” you either
1. go asap
2. wave/nod me past or
3. get tf out of the front because you’re confusing everyone waving more than 1-2 people on.

idk where we forgot those 3 simple rules, and the “standing in front of me” has gotten out of hand, especially at hike parks. if you’re hiking you put skis on at the back of the line. not this 15 ft down to the side bullshit. start where everyone else is for the feature and ditch speed if you need to.

one time when i was working at breck someone had a femur fracture on jump 2 in park lane. mountain safety was there on top of jump 1 and jump 2 while patrol was responding on the landing so i just went to the top drop in to inform people what was going on. this grimey ass snowboarder started yelling at me for closing it. i laughed at him (not a good reaction i have when people yell at me but it happens) told him sorry and he’s going to have to wait or he could go around and hit the other features below. the homie went down and 2/3 the way up the knuckle just hucked a 5 to flat to the right side of the knuckle. as in zero landing at all. it was pretty wild honestly. made me think he was on meth or ton of coke or maybe just inbred.

It’s not that deep I’m talking about when both sides are kind of on the same turn and I see a dad with his two kids or some shit like that.

for me, it might just be cause im slightly autistic lmfaoo. i beat the shit out of my skis anyways, i know someone stepping on them aint doing more damage than i do to em. it's just a personal respect thing for me, like if you crunch someone's personal space in a grocery store. it's just polite to say 'excuse me'. homie's/ppl you know doing it by accident is a pass tho

i got 1 of 1 skis and a pair thats 1 of 7. both of which i paid entirely too much for. dont touch my fuckin skis lil bitch

It's 6 am on a Tuesday, I'm grabbing a coffee at the local gas station, people are stopping in after their 3 hour car drive in full gear helmet and all. The fuck? Why are these people wearing all their gear all day long? See them all over the place driving on the highway, getting gas, grabbing a beer at the end of the day with the helmet still on.
