Tech Bindings On Moment commander 108

Eh.. honestly it doesnt seem to me that those would be a bad ski to tour on. Yeah, the ski will be slightly heavier but it will also be nicer to actually ski on than the squishy flopsticks that most "touring skis" are. Having something damp and strong is really nice sometimes.

My everyday touring skis are pretty heavy as far as skis go and they do not prohibit me from getting up type 2 shit. I have lighter weight stuff for peak-bagging and longer tours in ideal conditions, but those skis also kinda suck in comparison lol.

Throw some stronger touring bindings like a dynafit rotation 14 or a kingpin 13 on there and they'll be great. I'd be stoked on that setup - especially for days where the pow is a bit heavy or snow conditions are questionable.

In terms of safety, there is not really any increased danger from mounting tech bindings on those skis. Pins are Pins and they will be just as sketchy as they would be on a carbon ski as those commanders. Pins have come a long way in the last 10 years, and they are far less of timebombs than they used to be.

The main issue is that putting such a light binding on such heavy skis comes off as a bit pointless. I feel it would make more sense to throw a cast system on them and save the ultralight bindings for a ski that will match it. Then you will have a beefy ski for when you would actually use the commander to its full potential, and a lighter ski for peak bagging.

I have the cast system on my C108s and use them for sled skiing and sidecountry, you'd definitely want a burly pin binding to be able to drive them if thats the route you go, something like the ATK freeraider w the freeride spacer, kingpin 13, or tectons, you may blow up something thats more lighweight with floating heel pins
