1st off, I want to make it clear that Huey consciously gets "clout" from beefing with me. Huey is a No-Name skier. No one would have a reason to know him without him "having beef" with me. Multiple of Huey's friends have told me this themselves in person and on IG.
Now the story.
Liza and I drove down from Leadville for the start of Ruby Hill. Last year Liza volunteered at Ruby Hill as Park Crew when we lived in Denver. So we skiied often at Ruby Hill the prior season. Liza is also long time family friends with Cameron Lawrence, the man in charge of running Ruby Hill.
It started out a very normal night. A decent crowd showed up that evening. We skiied. We Kit chatted. We talked with old friends. We talked with new friends. But then 2 kids asked me to do an interview with them after finishing up a Kit Chat with Boden Wren. I agreed to their interview. It seemed fun and goofy.
As the "interview" started, 2 more kids pulled up with their camera's on. One kid was on Insta LIVE on his phone it seemed. The other kid had a large fisheye camera. But I recognized this kid. His name is Eli. I Kit Chatted him last season. He was a very strange unpredictable kid, who also a few days prior was in my DMs saying weird things and demanding to Face Time me. I got a weird feeling from seeing him all of a sudden here with a Camera stuffed in my Face.
At first the 2 kids asked me fair enjoyable questions about skiing and cereal. Like a Kit Chat, I had my Arm around their shoulders each kid on either side of me. As the "interview" went on I noticed out of the corner of my eye a kid in a white helmet appeared on the far side of the kid to my right. I couldn't see his face from the other side of the kid asking me questions. But then the next thing I know, the kid in the white helmet puts his mouth on my glove that was resting on the other kid's shoulder. I reacted and Smacked the kid in the helmet hard. WTF...
(This is where the interview deteriorates into an altercation.)
So now the Kid in the white helmet, upset, reveals himself from behind the other kid. "It's Huey. Oh great," I think. (Huey and I have had issues in the past. we are not on talking-terms. But yet here he is. And here I am in the middle of all his friends.
Huey upset at being smacked now begins accusing me of saying the F and the N word and being a Racist Nazi Homophobe. I try to get back to the interview with the 2 other boys. I have no desire to engage with this punk. The other boys' questions quickly become jaded like Huey's. And the Eli kid is shoving the camera within inches of my face. (which is why I lick it. Because it was literally that close that I could.)
Huey is accusing me of calling him a F****t, which I gladly admit to and inform him that people who behave dishonestly like he does are in fact F****ts. The other kids interviewing me ask a few jaded questions about saying the N word and Durham Jones. I'm not liking this situation, but for the most part, I keep my cool and laugh and play most things off.
Huey increasingly takes over this "interview" by saying increasingly disrespectful things to me. I clip out of my skis and ask him if he wants to settle it off the snow. Huey immediately plays the "I'm a minor" Card and says that I'm trying to assault a minor. I tell Huey to stop running his mouth and he won't get smacked. Huey plays the Minor Card again and again in between every Jeer he makes at me.
Liza clues into this situation going south. Like a threatened girlfriend she starts yelling at the teenage boys to fuck off and go away. I'm looking for Cameron so that he can handle the situation before it spirals out of control. I tell Liza to "go get Cameron." Liza doesn't hear me.
Now I know a lot of you are wondering why I don't fight Huey, why I don't haul off and punch him in his zit-covered 5'6" 110lb face. I wanted to. I really did. But it didn't feel right to do so. And here is why.
Huey is a minor, a child. I'm a 28 year-old adult. I'm a public figure. There is a crowd of people watching and filming me. We are on Ruby Hill Ski Terrain Park property. He has four 17-18 year-old friends around me.
What do I get from fighting Huey? Seems like a lot of Risk and No Reward. What if I punch him square in the face and drop him. His friends could all jump me. What if I successfully knock out all his friends? Someone is gunna call the cops. What if their parents press charges? I don't want to go to jail for fighting teens. I also don't wanna be banned from Ruby Hill for Fighting. I can't do something that might jeopardize the Future of Kit Chat. What if this doesn't end the Beef? What if this just pours fuel on the fire in the longterm and even worse events occur because of it.
I decided during the conflict that I was to only fight if someone tried to hurt me. So far no punches were thrown. Huey explicitly declined to fight me off snow. His friends were seeming becoming less interested in Huey's Beef. The Camera guy was backing off. Huey at this point was just repeating himself over and over again calling me the same names. So I decided to just stand my ground until it was over.
Eventually I was able to see Cameron walking back from the Park Crew Shack. So with the situation sizzling out, I just walked away and towards Cameron. Huey and his friends decided to take a lap and to ski down the hill.
I told Cameron about the situation that just had gone down with Huey and his Friends. Cameron remarked that this isn't the first issue that he's had with Huey at Ruby Hill, and he tells me he will handle it. So Cameron rides down the hill after Huey and his friends. Cameron tells them that if they ever pull shit like that again at his hill he will Ban them from Ruby Hill Ski Area. He also tells them that if they post any of the footage of the conflict online that he will also Ban them for that. Huey and company put their tails between their legs and moved on. Some of his friends left Ruby Hill shortly after. Others and Huey just ski the other side of Ruby Hill. Liza and I return to skiing.
We stay until the end of the night talking with friends and laughing. Huey also stays until the end of the night even though his crew for the most part had already gone home.
I ask Cameron if it would be okay if I have a few words with Huey. Cameron tells me there is No Fighting on his Ski Hill and to keep it lovely, or else he'll get involved real quick. I agree.
I march down the hill to Huey who is walking up the hill. I tell him bluntly, "I DONT LIKE YOU, YOU DONT LIKE ME. DONT FUCKIN TALK TO ME. DONT BE AROUND ME. DONT SAY MY NAME. AND I'LL DO THE SAME THING. YOU'RE DEAD TO ME. I'M DEAD TO YOU."
Huey visibly scared standing paralyzed wimpers back that he was just defending himself and his friends, and that I shouldn't call him a f****t.
I tell him, "I DON'T GIVE A FUCK. YOU'RE A PUNK. YOU GOT PROBLEMS. I DON'T WANT ANY PART OF YOU AROUND ME. YOU COME AROUND ME AGAIN I'LL SMACK THE SHIT OUTTA YOU."
Huey retorts again in a snide righteous tone that he was standing up for himself by calling me out. So I tell him, "SHUT TF UP. YOU HAVE 2 OPTIONS. YOU AGREE TO LEAVE ME ALONE. OR I SMACK YOU IN THE MOUTH RIGHT NOW."
Huey Retorts again.
Fed up with this brat, I take my hand and shove him in the throat backwards and begin walking up the hill.
Upon getting back to Liza and Cameron, Cameron thanks me for keeping it moderately Lovely.
Liza and I pack up and begin to leave.
As were leaving, I hear Huey saying from a distance, "Hey Chris! Hey Chris!" Liza turns to me as we walk acknowledging his calls. I say, "Nope. I ain't talkin."
We get in the car and go home.
That is what happened.
(And on a last note I wanna state that Huey and all of his friends were on some type of drug. All of their Pupils were the fuckin size of their Irises. They were trippin on somethin. They all were a bit jittery in their body movements and language.)

partyandBSSki resorts operate on public lands and certainly do not notify the forest service or town every time they ban someone. Obviously a bit different with paid products, signed waivers and an array of other things but I would be surprised if a municipality had to get involved.

Craw_DaddyLeased forest service land is completely different from a public park. Winter park doesn’t lease ruby hill from Littleton. The land is owned and maintained by the town. All winterpark does is provide the rails and snowmaking equipment.
partyandBSDenver Parks and Rec owns the land and WP operates it. They supply all the equipment like rails, snowmaking gun and hoses, snowcat, etc. They also staff it from rebuilds to everyday maintenance. I would presume that under their operating permit, they would be allowed to deny access as deemed necessary.

So now the Kid in the white helmet, upset, reveals himself from behind the other kid. "It's Huey. Oh great," I think. (Huey and I have had issues in the past. we are not on talking-terms. But yet here he is. And here I am in the middle of all his friends.
Huey upset at being smacked now begins accusing me of saying the F and the N word and being a Racist Nazi Homophobe. I try to get back to the interview with the 2 other boys. I have no desire to engage with this punk. The other boys' questions quickly become jaded like Huey's. And the Eli kid is shoving the camera within inches of my face. (which is why I lick it. Because it was literally that close that I could.)
Huey is accusing me of calling him a F****t, which I gladly admit to and inform him that people who behave dishonestly like he does are in fact F****ts. The other kids interviewing me ask a few jaded questions about saying the N word and Durham Jones. I'm not liking this situation, but for the most part, I keep my cool and laugh and play most things off.
Huey increasingly takes over this "interview" by saying increasingly disrespectful things to me. I clip out of my skis and ask him if he wants to settle it off the snow. Huey immediately plays the "I'm a minor" Card and says that I'm trying to assault a minor. I tell Huey to stop running his mouth and he won't get smacked. Huey plays the Minor Card again and again in between every Jeer he makes at me.
Liza clues into this situation going south. Like a threatened girlfriend she starts yelling at the teenage boys to fuck off and go away. I'm looking for Cameron so that he can handle the situation before it spirals out of control. I tell Liza to "go get Cameron." Liza doesn't hear me.
Now I know a lot of you are wondering why I don't fight Huey, why I don't haul off and punch him in his zit-covered 5'6" 110lb face. I wanted to. I really did. But it didn't feel right to do so. And here is why.
Huey is a minor, a child. I'm a 28 year-old adult. I'm a public figure. There is a crowd of people watching and filming me. We are on Ruby Hill Ski Terrain Park property. He has four 17-18 year-old friends around me.
What do I get from fighting Huey? Seems like a lot of Risk and No Reward. What if I punch him square in the face and drop him. His friends could all jump me. What if I successfully knock out all his friends? Someone is gunna call the cops. What if their parents press charges? I don't want to go to jail for fighting teens. I also don't wanna be banned from Ruby Hill for Fighting. I can't do something that might jeopardize the Future of Kit Chat. What if this doesn't end the Beef? What if this just pours fuel on the fire in the longterm and even worse events occur because of it.
I decided during the conflict that I was to only fight if someone tried to hurt me. So far no punches were thrown. Huey explicitly declined to fight me off snow. His friends were seeming becoming less interested in Huey's Beef. The Camera guy was backing off. Huey at this point was just repeating himself over and over again calling me the same names. So I decided to just stand my ground until it was over.
Eventually I was able to see Cameron walking back from the Park Crew Shack. So with the situation sizzling out, I just walked away and towards Cameron. Huey and his friends decided to take a lap and to ski down the hill.
I told Cameron about the situation that just had gone down with Huey and his Friends. Cameron remarked that this isn't the first issue that he's had with Huey at Ruby Hill, and he tells me he will handle it. So Cameron rides down the hill after Huey and his friends. Cameron tells them that if they ever pull shit like that again at his hill he will Ban them from Ruby Hill Ski Area. He also tells them that if they post any of the footage of the conflict online that he will also Ban them for that. Huey and company put their tails between their legs and moved on. Some of his friends left Ruby Hill shortly after. Others and Huey just ski the other side of Ruby Hill. Liza and I return to skiing.
We stay until the end of the night talking with friends and laughing. Huey also stays until the end of the night even though his crew for the most part had already gone home.
I ask Cameron if it would be okay if I have a few words with Huey. Cameron tells me there is No Fighting on his Ski Hill and to keep it lovely, or else he'll get involved real quick. I agree.
I march down the hill to Huey who is walking up the hill. I tell him bluntly, "I DONT LIKE YOU, YOU DONT LIKE ME. DONT FUCKIN TALK TO ME. DONT BE AROUND ME. DONT SAY MY NAME. AND I'LL DO THE SAME THING. YOU'RE DEAD TO ME. I'M DEAD TO YOU."
Huey visibly scared standing paralyzed wimpers back that he was just defending himself and his friends, and that I shouldn't call him a f****t.
I tell him, "I DON'T GIVE A FUCK. YOU'RE A PUNK. YOU GOT PROBLEMS. I DON'T WANT ANY PART OF YOU AROUND ME. YOU COME AROUND ME AGAIN I'LL SMACK THE SHIT OUTTA YOU."
Huey retorts again in a snide righteous tone that he was standing up for himself by calling me out. So I tell him, "SHUT TF UP. YOU HAVE 2 OPTIONS. YOU AGREE TO LEAVE ME ALONE. OR I SMACK YOU IN THE MOUTH RIGHT NOW."
Huey Retorts again.
Fed up with this brat, I take my hand and shove him in the throat backwards and begin walking up the hill.
Upon getting back to Liza and Cameron, Cameron thanks me for keeping it moderately Lovely.
Liza and I pack up and begin to leave.
As were leaving, I hear Huey saying from a distance, "Hey Chris! Hey Chris!" Liza turns to me as we walk acknowledging his calls. I say, "Nope. I ain't talkin."
We get in the car and go home.
That is what happened.
(And on a last note I wanna state that Huey and all of his friends were on some type of drug. All of their Pupils were the fuckin size of their Irises. They were trippin on somethin. They all were a bit jittery in their body movements and language.)
