Would FIS increase prize money for FWT?

I did some digging on the prize money for FIS events and was able to find the payouts. I know this is only a portion of what skiers make because of sponsor dollars, but it helps gives insight to the realities of what these skiers are making. Im curious on people's thoughts, I'm not a huge fan of FIS, but I thought the gap between park comps and FWT was pretty big.

Slope/Pipe/Big Air for ski and snowboard is about $13,000 for first place and pays out through the Top 10. This is in Swiss Francs, but can be converted.



FWT is currently only $5,000 for first and pays only podium. If FWT becomes an official freeski World Cup event, I would assume it means a pay increase for the athletes.

1st = $5000
2nd= $3000
3rd= $2000

Yeah imagine traveling around the world sending it down cliffs for 5k. I get people would do it for free but damn 5k, really?

This reminds me of when people said that slope/pipe in the olympics would be better too, look where we are now. More money is great, but when something loses its soul and becomes unfavorable for the athletes, the extra money doesn't really make up for it.

unsustainable is the reality for any actual athlete. mommy and daddy are the only sponsors willing to pay the way.

the fact that you take money from the industry... Mindblowing.

It will help grow the sport! More people will see skiing on the big stage! More sponsor money = more money for athletes!

looking back, slopestyle skiing really started to become unwatchable and boring right around 2014, what a coincidence

Don't ski for money! Only acceptable options are:
-Skiing for yourself and having fun
-Skiing for your friend's hot mom
-Skiing at the olympics under the Chinese flag even tho ur a yankee to collect that communist bag
