Still doing plenty of backcountry near Taos, sometimes I'll skin the resort too. Taos closes early April usually with a massive snowpack and it drives me insane. We have some super weird sun cup fuckage going on right now in the BC but at least its soft and makes for some interesting descents. I'll probably drive up for a weekend at A-basin at some point soon

That’s so wild. Didn’t know that part of BC got that much snow. Isn’t grouse a lower elevation hill compared to the other mountains in BC? Or am I wrong ?

That's correct. Grouse is about 3300 ft above sea level and it's right on the coast. Pretty much the warmest wettest part of Canada. It's not unusual for grouse to stay open until May but we got a lot of snow in April. Most of the snow we get is quite wet so if the average temp were to rise by one degree Celsius then we'd be screwed imo. during the last 5 years or so grouse's closing date has been between mid April and mid May, with the exception of the time grouse shut down during the pandemic. A lot of snow gets blown in the park and especially the main run, which is pretty much all that's open by the end of the season. That's kind of a long rant, but just in case anyones curious lol
We're closing may 30th. Have enough snow to go longer but with construction and lack of employees they're gonna wind it up. Nice were getting this month though.

You think the XL will stay till closing? I wanna go up so bad, but its exam week.
Abay open til June 7th or something so I’ll be shredding til then, maybe the boys will hike up later in June or something, snows there might as well use it
