Both are hella embarrassing and suck but which is worse. And I’m talking like you over rotate that flip so much that you land straight on your back

i get where you’re heads at but as far as injury implications go catching your tips is far more desirable than heavily over rotating a backflip

Catching tips sucks but I'd rather scorpion and scrape my face than the knee twisting, back breaking hell that is a big over rotation.

if theres any chance of slowing your fall with your tails then overrotate but if it's straight to back/ neck then tip clip

ive gone tips in like 10 times in last 2 weeks tryna backflip a park jump. i did it first try then couldnt again. depends on the landing and snow but its never hurt for me either way

Considering I broke my back by clipping my front tips and doing a scorpion after a under-rotated backflip, it’s safe to say I’d much rather over rotate and have really bad shin bang instead.

My first 5ish backie attempts I over rotated to my back and was fine cause I had a back protector but prob would've been okay. Caught tips once and got a concussion. The root of all those crashes were letting my knees bend on takeoff. Lead with your hips. and don't sling your head.

shit id rather rotate a backflip poorly.

tip catches are my worst nightmare, had a minor one happen last week tryna nose butter in absolute slush but last season I was tryna daffy and caught tip and went full nosedive before I could catch myself with my arms to avoid getting KO'd

Ive done both and over rotating is far better. Back in high school I was zooming around and hucked a backie off a cat track, caught my tips, snapped one of my skis, split my helmet, and got a concussion.
