Years ago, I was sitting in a diner in Charleston, SC and I overheard another table.

“We had this pro skier guy staying with us, Colby James West. Guy was a total douchebag.”

Thats all I caught. I was gobsmacked. I wanted to ask more but I was too shy ha

Rumor was that he was a pretty big douchebag, cant argue that he was hilarious though. I remember hearing at a ski movie premier that all he would do is take like 6 or 7 runs to get the big jump shots and then would dip out in the lodge. But his "My friends a pro" and the "its not unusual" segments are all time classics

And that's why we celebrate him here for daring to step out of the box!

I think in way, he makes himself a wacky central character, and it exposes the wackiness he sees around him.

It's a cool vision. Very lighthearted and fun to watch.
