Mines kinda gross but in January I was trying a new trick on medium 3 at copper, I kinda cased the jump and landed backseat and my pivot went up my ass and it hurt so bad. I went to the bathroom and my ass was bleeding and so I told my homies my knee was hurting and went home ☠️

Yo dude, the crack is simply on the brake, new brakes (or one for the matter) would entirely fix the problem and in your DMs the homie offered to refund you for brakes and even buy you new ones. The bindings he sold were functional, one brake just had a mild bust which is extremely common in pivots and isn’t crazy unsafe either. Seems like you don’t know what you’re talking about and we’re being a dick tbh.
“I spend lots of time hunting pivots down just so I can get kids pivots that can’t afford retail”
cool man that doesn’t justify the high ass price, when I hunt down a pair of bindings for myself I don’t beg the seller to come down off their price (if I agree with the price in the first place) just because awwww I spent a bunch of time on my phone looking for them boo hoo 😭😭🥺😓😓
Sold close to 100 sets of bindings in the past 2 winters. Refunded a few people 100% for stuff they weren't happy with. Sold probably 25-30% of the bindings I've gotten to hommies for what I paid or less. Everything I get I clean up, fix, add parts that were missing or broken. Put new brakes on the older models. Communicate well with everyone that buys from me, even guys that just jump down my throat while I'm willing to help.
If you ever need a top of the line binding for a reasonable price hit me up. If you don't have as much as I'm asking lmk I'm always open to offers. If I stumble on what you're looking for while I'm tracking stuff down I'll find your thread and send it to you. I don't middle man stuff just to make a buck. It's a hobby, passion and opportunity to ski a lot of different equipment myself.
Hope everyone has a good and healthy rest of their season.
fucintightthat mother fucker sold me his "rarest, favorite, in perfect condition" pivots for $200 and then when I went to get them mounted on my wets, the shop tech was like "there's a massive crack across the forward pressure mechanism that's just filled with epoxy. i don't feel comfortable mounting these for you." told him and he told me to fuck off and that both me and the shop tech (who knew his shit and was very nice) were fucking idiots after i asked for him to replace the heel piece that he sold me under false pretenses. dude couldn't even have a coherent conversation about his fuck up.
fuck that dude fr, don't give him money
Nah the guy was actually cool with it and offered u not only a 100% refund but also a basically free set of brakes
Understand why u were annoyed when there was a problem with pivs described as “perfect” but dude seemed pretty nice
Yeah from those messages it seemed like he was trying to help you out and you got angry and called him a prick. Pretty easy mistake to miss that crack and he's not wrong, it will have no effect on the function of the binding. Also his communication is pretty damn clear and you seem to be the one unable to have a coherent conversation

I’ve even got a pair that he sold me for a really good price on my JJ’s! #pivotplug2024

Already been said before but he didn’t do anything wrong my guy, you just don’t know your stuff and tried to take frustration out on my guy. It’s all good tho, real ones know
animatorFirst off, why are you skiing Pivot 18s if you’ve only been skiing for 2 years? Genuine question because I’ve been skiing for 15 and I only started skiing a 15 after 10 years. Second, the text seems like dude was more than willing to refund 100% or replace the brake assembly. It seems to me like you don’t know what you’re talking about when it comes to this binding and you shouldn’t have been skiing it
theyre 15's. i keep my dins at 9 which is pretty much dead center of the range which, from what i've heard, is optimal. didn't want 18's but wanted the option to put on a cast set up on the skis.
i shouldn't be skiing a binding that makes me feel safer bc of the elasticity? just because i don't know everything about the inner workings of a binding and how (what looks like a pretty big crack to my novice eyes) it fully functions to t, doesn't mean i flat out shouldn't ride them. give me a break
propjeffhe could have explained it better, but he's correct. Here's a link to a pair of pivot brake assemblies - https://www.untracked.com/p5556c82b97lr-Froogle-look_rossignol_fks_pivot_brakes.html#chsku437498 . You can see that the brake assembly he was referring to is essentially the entire heel piece, except the main base unit and lower support bar. I wasn't aware you could order a single brake assembly direct from rossi/look, but your shop should be able to do that for you for the $55. or just take the refund and get new 14s on sale for like $230 right now
yeah he didn't articulate it. he got mad at me bc he didn't explain and i was confused and worried about a purchase i made, i think rightfully so. he used the excuse that "he does this all the time" so he doesn't have the time to deal, i'm paraphrasing, w idiots like me. if he had articulated that and been patient instead of getting mad at me bc i didnt know what was going on and thought i was getting fucked over, there wouldn't have been a problem

Gotcha. Thought somewhere you said they were 18s.
As far as this transaction, looks like you were the first person to get butthurt in that text exchange, Dezi seemed to be more than willing to send you money for the new brake assembly until you started calling him a prick. Also, make up your mind about your binding knowledge. You think that they’re safer because of the increased elasticity yet you don’t seem to understand when someone explains that the brake assembly can be replaced for a meager $55…..

Also, being in the middle of the range means nothing. There’s a reason bindings have a range. If we all had to be at the middle, there wouldn’t be a range in the first place. Bindings are designed to be used and operate correctly at any setting in their range
my fault for not including the entire conversation from the start. i forget how accusatory and angry ppl get on here. he only offered at the start. after asking twice he got angry, then just said fuck it and blew me off. i looked up the cost of the brakes that he said cost $55. they cost $100 without shipping. it's in the video. at no point was i trying to be rude, i was just trying to get my problem resolved and i got dicked. hard. https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/1035369/trim-6B2C0E47-E1D9-4E15-A6BB-0D5042824AE5-MOV

i never jumped down your throat dude. i think i was being fairly reasonable for the situation. i thought i was getting fucked over and didn't want to trust the opinion of one person over instagram. you can see that if you look at our dms. i asked twice, over the course of one day, about the plastic piece being a functional part and then you said you weren't willing to help at all. i wanted to have the piece replaced and you wouldn't even offer the cost of it?
my biggest gripe was that you taped only the forward pressure indicator w painters tape and sold me it. you lied about it, by omission, from the start. if you had just been up front there wouldn't have been an issue
i offered a resolution and you just shut me out. i think that's a very shitty way to do business and warrants being shown to as many people as possible
TwoBiFourHoly moly what a thread, lol.

the brakes that i could find online cost $100 minimum, he offered $55. he didnt offer the option of a phone number for rossi until the very end and then still refused to give me it

I finally took time to read this. He was being open and transparent and you just jumped in on him. I don’t know how you were expecting people to react to this conversation… If you’ve ever sold things (in a shop or own your own), you know that mistakes happen and the best you can do is try to make it right. Seems like that’s what he was trying to do.

youre totally right. i was being unnecessarily rude at first for sure but i wasn't given the option of resolution after i tried to talk it out and be rational. i had about 10hrs to process what he was telling me before he told me to get lost. when you sell something below the quality you said it was, you should probably expect the buyer to be a little pissed and be open for a conversation on fixing it. not say the same thing 3x over and then tell them to get lost
i just wanted what i felt was due, which was compensation for the damaged heel piece and i never got it so i was pissed. i just thought (and still think) that other ppl should know that the only person that consistently posts used pivots for sale could potentially do this to them too
Fair enough. Do you follow the good deals thread in gear talk? We’re posting crazy deals in there all the time. Often times with pivots too
