.otto.Can ya go sideways on a box consistently?
omenapuuuWell there isn't too many boxes on the resorts i ski at only tubes and really wide boxes but yeah i would say i can slide boxes sideways pretty consistently
Christian_Baletry looking at the end of the rail or pointing to the end of the rail with your downhill hand. if you keep on falling off early to the right side then try to compensate and aim more to the left side. or vice versa. if you find that you're jumping across the rail too much, then maybe you should change the angle of your approach

.otto.If you can slide a box, you can slide a rail! Only difference is that rails require a bit more bodily calibration. You cant just hop and and become a dead fish! Id do exactly what christian_bale advised.
Biggest thing is repetition. Any good rail kiddo as spent a ton of hours just trying to slide rails in the first place. So if you are having a hard time, keep on going at it-- eventually you will feel more familiar with the movement
omenapuuuI need to try that because i think that could be the reason because when I jump on the rail i mostly think about jumping on and then i end up looking to the slope and not the end of the rail. And should I get on the rail like carving from the side or go straight off the jump and then get on the rail (hard to explain)

Icant_kfedWhatever you do, do not carve on, go parallel to the rail, I go maybe a foot or so away, and just hop on
QuadkinkyGotta make sure ur skis r almost 90 degrees really helped me. Wasn’t turning skis enough just riding off
Sendyonthetendychest up, look down the rail, also make sure to rotate. full rotation is one of the easiest way to not fall off a rail.
