Please help me with my boots

I just got a pair of Tom wallish pros in a 26.5 as I was swimming in my 27.5 classics. The length feels amazing the room around my calf and shin feels amazing, but after a couple laps I have an unbearable pressure point under the toe buckle. I know that full tilts with the classic buckle have a wider last of 102 but something tells me I won’t be able to exchange. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
thanks

1) loosen the cable by unscrewing and pulling it out as far as it will go while still being able to secure it when screwing back in
2) only click the toe buckle so there is an ever so slight amount of tension, no more
3) if there is a decent amount of tension on the first rung, you need to get a longer cable
4) classic shell is 99mm last just like soul shell
