Proper way to apply katchup on fries

all my homies spray the katchup over the fries making it impossible to pick them up. i feel it makes more sense to make a pool on the side. Are they just ginger or am I going crazy?

The poll doesn’t list the obvious right way which is to eat a fry and then squirt ketchup from the bottle directly into your mouth.
