By definition, remounting is drilling new holes in a ski, so that's probably what you're gonna have to do. IDK what you mean by buying other bindings and moving them forward?

you could buy demo bindings which allow you to switch aroudn the boot size that they will fit, but demo bindings are generally weaker and shouldn't be used for repetitive, serious riding. probably would be fine for a while though. they can be a good option if you want to have a pair of skis to let your friends use and stuff

those holes in your ski will only work for that type of binding.

yes. you need new holes for new bindings. that requires moving the new bidings forward or backward of the existing screws.

there is "Quiver Killer Inserts" you can instal into your old binding holes, so they can be re-used. similar to how snowboarding bindings work. link above.

you can learn to drill skis yourself, with or without a template.

if you want to practise, you can go pick up old twigs at a thrift shop, and go to town on them.

boots have a centre line marked on them, that’s what your mount point relates to.

just keep in mind that you need forward pressure on the heel piece. There is a mark or screw that shows you how much you have.
