Heyo,
So last year I got into BC stuff and bought a pair of tech compatible boots (Salomon Shift Pro 130’s) and some Marker Kingpins. At the time my quiver of one skis were light enough that I pulled my old Rossignol FKS 120’s off of them and swapped the Kingpins on. This year I bought new dedicated AT skis and want to put my Kingpins on those and put my FKS’s back on my old skis. Cue me realizing that I don’t know much about boot/binding standards.
1. Everywhere I can see, the Shift Pro 130 boot soles are listed as “ISO 9523, Gripwalk” compatible… does this mean BOTH ISO 9523 AND Gripwalk (ISO 23223) compatible? Or are they describing different things?
2. I think I’ve come to terms that my old FKS bindings are not compatible with the Shift Pro boots, since the FKS are (AFAICT) listed as WTR and Alpine ISO 5355 compatible only. Can anyone confirm?
3. I really like the design of the Look Pivot/Rossi FKS bindings and I trust them. The new Look Pivot 15’s are listed as both ISO 5355 AND Gripwalk compatible. Would picking up a pair of Pivot 15's work with the Shift Pro 130 boots?
Appreciate any guidance you can give!
