How would you feel if someone in a sport you like (skateboarding, skiing, etc.) started selling brand-related NFTs?
NFT’s are dumb, what I’m bouta do is start buying trademarks for popular ski companies and then produce my own Merch, maybe even fish out some cease and desists, who knows.
Jiberish trademark is open for the taking, didn’t even see one registered for Arsenic so that’s next.

Just because someone hasn't renewed their trademark doesn't mean you can just use it willy nilly

If you say so dawg, looks like I can apply for it anyways so we’ll see about that.
if NS can crowd fund ~$300 we could own the rights to Jiberish and make whatever tf we want. Hell we could do an entire drop of gangster loony toons character clothing- call it the “Warner Bro’s capsule collection”
Nft's are dumb but so are most pop culture garbage collectables. It's just a different medium to fleece bugmen out of their money. Like WTF is funko pop and why do urbanite redditor stereotypes buy them?

Funko Pops, Nenderoids, figurines, etc. are at least physical things you can decorate your house with. Also, you can't just walk to the store and "right click" on it IRL and "save" it to your house for free, so it makes sense to pay money (a few dollars to like $200) for a physical thing that costs labor and tools to make, and whose pose, appearance, etc. was also designed by an actual professional artist.
NFTs are ugly ass randomized caricatures that you can easily rightclick and put anywhere you want online or otherwise for free, but people pay thousands upon thousands of dollars for "a certificate of ownership" of them in the blockchain. It's completely pointless and when you "own" the NFT you still have no special privileges with the image file such as having the vector art file or whatever

No different than a signature or something equally as easy to forge but the difference in value is the proof of legitimacy. I feel, like most 'collectables' most NFT's will be worthless and some will be very coveted. Also I don't know much about them but can't NFT's also be more than just images? Like they can be special items in video games, special music releases, etc. Even if they're not tangible they still have some 'use' that may not be easy to forge or copy/paste and maintain value.
