That "Tell me about your awesome day on hill" thread
We got some snow. All blower no base. Was a little sketchy in spots especially earlier in the storm. I rode Sunday and it was jacked. Huge lines everywhere, too many people .
Went out yesterday. Scared of the crowds, ghost town pow day. Ended up just ripping at full capacity.
I know some of you are in this boat, but a lot of times i never get close to that point. I can ride but i keep things pretty mellow which is fine. Felt good to get a little sendy. Not necessarily reckless but just charging. There were wind scoured areas that were a little sketch to come into at high speed and deep turns in between. Felt good to crank up the tunes and just let er rip for a change.
Probably the hardest I've ridden early season in a decade outside of some early season park days. Just launching off things with the confidence thst "i got this".
Its 4 AM, I have not yet slept. Presently, I am contemplating staying up all night and skiing what should be close to 2 feet of blower pow at the bird by morning. I may have to add to this thread later

If you do and don't post about it you'll regret it. Maybe decades from now.

Hitting Alta with my dad today, apparently they got 14 inches. He’s my absolute favorite person to ski with so I’m shitting myself in excitement

Rain days in Pennsylvania where the visibility is low and ice is high, nothing like being the only group of kids flying down the hill in trashbags while staff gives you weird looks

Update skied for 6 hours straight and I’m absolutely slumped. But it was nuts, one “bowl” or wall kept getting hit with the wind, so every time tracks formed it filled back up it was so sick 10/10 day. And there ended up being over 19 inches
Can't complain too much. Another day of skiing on the clock. Need to start pressing my kids a bit more to work on drills but in a fun way, not in a hardo ski coach way because I'm not trying to kill stoke before we haven't even skied upper mountain, you know? long season with these groups.
Had a great day yesterday and skied some really good snow in places. I was getting really excited and tried a flip off this really shitty lip and ended up crashing pretty hard. More snow coming tonight so im gonna have to try to overcome my soreness and get out there for the goods!
Got called in on my day off. Groomed the fuck out of some trails proper. All noce flst passes and straight lines. Me and roommate went out to stroke our egos and get some deep turns.
Snow came in a little bot so we were throwing some clouds around. But it was a sick ass time we got a lot of laps in fast.
Well, day after my final, got up at 11, it snowed again all day, absolutely charged soft bumps next to the liftline and had a day with the squad hitting sidehits and cat tracks at the bird. Skiing and landing in soft snow is way too much fun.
ArgyleNJUgh. 61 degrees today in NYC. 53 up in VT. Not off to a very good start. Though it's still early for the east I suppose.

Everything that wasn't manmade was pretty much gone at Cannon. Sucks cause 2 weeks ago there was a good base. The patrollers and everyone were super bumming.
Spring soft snow is great though and empty trails are too was fun ripping top to bottom a dozen times. Not sure why noone was there it didn't rain or nothing.
First day of the season. East Oregon. It rained a bit. Rocks and trees. But my fuck was it fun. Nothing like last year with the massive crowds and people freaking the fuck out
But I tried do a nose butter(had been doing them all day) in front of some young guns and ate shit and they heckled me .........

Every day I have ever had at ALMR was super awesome. I love that place
Just closed out an excellent opening week at Bachelor. Felt so good to decompress from all this college bullshit. The snow was fire and more and more stuff opened throughout the week. Highlight was definitely eating an 8th of shroomies and then skiing blower powder through the trees all day with the boys. Such a fun mountain. Back in Santa Barbara today and then off to Squaw tomorrow!
So southback opened today at crystal. I dont fuck with holidays but i built a jump snd was going to test it.
Punched out at 9:06 and wondered why lots were so empty on drive home. Somebody had flipped a car on access road and road was fully blocked. I threw my shit on grab some beers and legit ran lr power walked to the shuttle. Took a couple olay runs with decent moments. Then southback opened.
Wasnt even near the first person out there but people had skipped a chute i like a lot. After riding a bony patch at the top of 6 i was scared msybe it was suoer rocky in low tide. I started in a little slow and it was perfect and then met er rip. 0 fucking tracks in site till the traverse at the bottom.
Fucking insane. Its Christmas break, i work graves and i got fresh tracks on amazing terrain.
Todsy was pretty sick somehow getting mad uncrowded laps and great snow. Super dry snos for this time of year today was crazy light and it fell so gracefully
Snow was coming down at elm creek. Went for like 4 hours and felt fucking great. Perfect speed and I got some good lines. Also got some clips which is always nice. Not a super busy day and I was just on some shit I didnt feel any of my slams.

This week has been so fucking good man holy balls. Like yeah crowds are outrageous but damn I can't I can complain about any runs ive had in the last week and thats a good thing
Cannon opened the tram for the first time in 2 years that mountain skis way better when you can get a quick ride up and then beat the same car down and know it'll be waiting for you. Way different experience than taking 3 lifts. Its out of the way too so beginners won't ride it. Looking forward to Sunday.
Stomped a big rock drop at Mary Jane in the POW yesterday right in front of the team summit crew that had the run closed for a private party. Hiked for some pillow drops too epic day!
This past Monday I had the single best day of skiing in my life. No crowds, fresh tracks all day, the homies were stoked. It was Sierra quantity and Utah quality snow. Not sure I’ll ever experience a pow day like that again in my life.
hucked my meat at Alpental today and ripped some pow on a rare bluebird AND sub-20deg temp pow-day on chair 2. Took some great photos. Heck I might even write an article piggybacking on @BigPurpleSkiSuit 's article about why pow skiing is amazing
I had a pretty great time today skiing some pow as well
