Finally, the day had come. Opening day of the season. As I arrived at the parking lot of my home mountain I gazed upon the mountain in awe. I was the first one there. I put on all my gear as quick as I could and sprinted up to the entrance. As the day went on I took no breaks, so as to not waste any moment of the day. As the end of the day was drawing near I grew more and more tired. I decided to stay away from the park and stick with just carving for the rest of the day.
As I was minding my own business I suddenly heard something behind me. As I turned around, I saw a figure flying at me. It was a snowboarder. Before I knew it he had jumped onto my bindings and I went tumbling down the mountain as he skirted away unscathed. The fall lasted for so long, I had no time to see him or say anything. I hoped up discombobulated trying to find my skis. I found the in the distance. As I drew near to my skis, I realized my bindings were broken. I walked down the mountain shamefully with my broken bindings.
As I was driving home I was contemplating what bindings to get and where to go to get them. The sun was almost set which made it hard to see anything on the road or through the trees. Suddenly I saw a small run down building, through the trees that had a bit of a glow to it. Something was drawing me towards the building and I couldn’t help but pull over and bush wack to the small building I had found.
As I drew near it looked abandoned, and no one was answering my calls inside. I couldn’t help myself but go inside. As I opened the door, I heard a voice call to me.
“I’ve been expecting you” the voice boomed in the distance. I knew it was too late to turn around. I decided to continue in
“What is this place? Who are you?” I said in a shaky voice not knowing what the future held for me.
“Who I am is not important. I have what you are looking for.” He said in a firm yet soft spoken voice.
I finally came face to face with the figure that the voice belonged to. He was dripped out head to toe. He was the steeziest of all steez gods.
“Who are you?” I barely managed to get out.
“Who me? I’m the god of skiing and the lord of steez. I have these for you”
I looked down at his hands and he was holding the oldest most beat to shit bindings I have ever seen.
“They look broken. How do you expect me to use these” I responded.
“Mount these on your ski and your ever ski wish will be granted. It’s now time for you to go.” He replied.
As he walked me outside I was in shock. Suddenly we had reached outside the woods again, out in the cold. I turned around to pay him or at least give him thanks, but when I turned around him, as well as the run down building had vanished. From that day on, no snowboarders dared to fuck with me on the mountain. Occasionally to this day I see the ski god on the mountain but everytime I try to get his attention he disappears.
