ON3P Jeffery size question

I currently ski a 2015 ON3P Filthy rich, At only 88 underfoot they are great for skiing park in Ohio, and even great for charging chop anywhere. But most of my skiing happens out west now a days and I’m investing in something wider. I was set on the Jeffery 110 at 181cm, considering I’m skiing on a 176 currently. I’m 6’0 185lbs and ski pretty aggressively, tend to stay in the trees out west which is what this ski is strictly for. My question is, would a 186 be a better fit for my size, or would jumping up from 176 to 186 be hard to do? I’ll be going to powder mountain utah in January for example, would the 186 be more appropriate for their un groomed terrain? Thanks for any feedback!

I’d go 186 so you have that lil extra support charging ungroomed stuff but if you think you’ll spend most of your time skiing trees and stuff go 181- it’s only a 5 cm difference in the end.

Like a 186 would be great for pow/ all mountain. But if you’d rather have that ~2 inches less for easier maneuvering then go for it.

Do you think i would notice a difference in effort of turning between the two? For example would i be a little more worn out after charging down with the 186s instead of the 181s or is it not enough of a difference to notice?

Like I said, 5 cm is about ~2 inches of ski overall. The weight and length difference wouldn’t be that gnarly but there’d still be a difference. Turning and cruising would take a little more effort on the 186’s but you also have a lil bigger platform to float/land on.

I’d say go for the 186 but if you’re worried about that extra 5cm fuckin you up then just grab some 181’s

Mounting point matters a lot too, where are you currently mounted and plan to mount? (cm from center) think about how much tip and tail length you’ll have on each.

Also something i am unsure about, because i currently ski true center...i know that’s not realistic for a good all mountain set up so I’ll be Atleast 2cms back. What’s your opinion on that? Is 2 enough or should i do whatever the ski recommends?

I’m 5’ 10” on 181s love em to death and not too much work so I don’t think you’d mind 181 or 186. Jumped up from 170s* a couple years back and won’t buy anything under 180 again unless it was park dedicated. Sounds like you’d want recommended for sure, which I believe is about 2-2.5 back from center.

Moving from 176 centered to 186 @-2 will feel like a big jump since you’re adding 7cm in front of the ski. That being said, my opinion it will feel more stable and chargy. (But less nimble and light) I think a 176 centered is probably too short for you at 6’ 185” though. I pretty much always mount at recommend, but if your around -1cm I would go 186, -3cm I would go 181. Any chance of demoing a similar width ski in those lengths? Worth spending $50 to get the right length ski.
