Umm that’s not what that word means….. it’s a pretty common word used in Nigeria. And even did mean scholarly man, what kind of pompous fucking asshole would put it on a license plate? Your family sounds wack af ngl

dawg my grandpa lived there for almost 10 years and i have two aunts born there. i think he woulda remembered the meaning. and even if that’s not the common definition the meaning and popularization of it have a good meaning.
also maybe because it’s apart of their life and memories. why else would u get a custom plate?

He can live there a million years, it doesn’t change the fact that the word is pretty common and by no means unique to him. Sounds like a complete asshole to me and a little self-righteous to ride around town with a plate thinking it means “scholarly man” which I’m sorry to tell you that not what the word means. Grandpa and daddy are a bit of a liar there bud, and a bit full of themselves. Stay humble!

He should have got a plate that said “ignorant white man”. It would have been much more appropriate.

You seem very upset. Is there a different meaning? what i’ve found online it’s a term for mister but usually people held with hi regard for their kindness or knowledge. If you‘re nigerian and know it differently please let me know. I’m sure my grandparents would love to continue to learn about a culture they hold dearly.

It’s just a word used to greet another man…nothing special and certainly nothing unique about it. Ur grandparents r just typical ignorant folks that went to Africa thinking they were gods gift to humanity and prob thought they were something special when they heard the word used. Your grandparents and dad are extremely naive and full of themselves to say the very least.

This came up on my Facebook memories with the hashtag MinggOnlyHitsBoxes. Can confirm. Except it’s been at least 2 years since I’ve hit any park feature so maybe it’s not true 😂😂😂
