ASAPCarterSetup at forest and main were fun asf as always today, thanks for keeping it fresh!
Idk if you like big jumps but middle in main is fixin to be a booter. Jake hasnt buikt the take off yet but knuckle looking primo. I sure af wont hit anything that big these days. But stoked we still build them.
After the storm and rev tour well do a refresh on out main side parks. Probably will rebuild forest jumps, below jump 3. And mambo exit.

Lower main is still looking pretty good
Knees been buggin so probably good on that tbh but looked like yall were moving some serious snow today haha.
side note but how does one get into driving cats? Looking into employment options for next year and always thought that would be a sick gig.

Yeah my buddies are pushing snow for the rail pads for rev tour next week. Its cool and shitty but we can steal all the snow off broadway to build which is sick, but after the event we have to push it all back and we jist keep the 3 jumps.
Best way is to do ride alongs at your local. Ask if you can ride along for a night. Most people are pretty cool about it and you can gain someknowledge about the machine and the job. Help your toward getting a job or maybe showing you its not your thing lol.
If you do ride along bring some coffee or an energy drink. Its a warm machine with a comfy seat and your out at night. Def don't want to fall asleep. Some people wont care but some people hate having a sleeping passenger. Just an fyi.
Also most mtns are always hiring snowmaker to get the mtn open. The job sucks and is awesome at the same time lol. Job varies a bit mtn to mtn.
Anyways generally snowmaking ends mid January + or - depending on weather and the mtn.
Mostplaces are pretty good at trying to get you into another role at the mtn. Ao a lot of people got into the ski industry as snowmakers then eventually started running cats.
I make snow early season some years and a few of the unbound crew do as well. If you go that route make sure to talk to the grooming manager, hell even your snowmaking manager and mention wanting to do ride alongs. Don't be annoying but become a familiar face.
Vail resorts hire several rookies every year. There are a lot less opertors now. People have moved on because they had kids or because the pay was so shit and rent is $$.
Pay is a lot better now. I know VR sucks but a job is a job and getting in a machine and getting that experienceis worth it any place you can get hired.
If you do get hired, make sure to do 2 seasons. It looks shitty to leave after 1. Why did he leave? Was he a shittyw employee? If you leave during the first season thats a mega res flag and only desperate mtns will touch you.
But with 2 years and a positive reference you can get a job anywhere.

But yeah, good luck if you decide to do it.
Hell yeah right on, might be hitting ya up next time I’m in town. I drive night shift on a fishing boat for the other half of the year so I’m pretty used to the graveyard grind already. Hoping to either move to Bend or Mammoth in November so I’m trying to start figuring out my options for a job.
Special leak. Kept the finish raw cuz I don't have a functional ano setup and didn't have any room to remove material. Did put some scotchbrite on a 2in facemill to polish off a bit. 🤓
kinda sorta finally finished my parts bin winter project.
already dreaming about a bullmoose bar and 2.5+ tires and a front disk buuuut i had drops in the bin so ill rip them for a while.
def gonna need a front rack tho. planning on doing a couple day bikepack to all my favorite trail running/scrambling laps this spring on this thing. excited
SofaKingSickgod damn that brings back memories. have you had these for a while or did you recently mount them up?
I found them in a ski pile that was being donated a few years ago. I grabbed them from the pile, brought them home, and tested the binding size with my boots, they fit so my guess is thats the original mount from whenever they were first mounted. Still a fun ski to mess around with, did a lot of buttering around on them yesterday.
