Off axis in riders

Am I stupid? I know you can do them and I even went to the trick learning are but still can't figure it out

If you're on the basic controls (using the buttons) then you need to hold the left or right button (Square/Circle or X/B) to pop and then hold one of the vertical buttons in the air (Triangle/X or Y/A) or vice versa. You can do the same thing starting with the vertical buttons then the horizontal

Same thing for the advanced controls but using the thumb stick. It's pretty confusing at first especially throwing in grabs and stopping the rotation at the right time but you'll get used to it
