Progressing to a cork 7

I’ve been skiing for a few years now in Australia and am fairly decent carving on groomers and such but have never really learnt park (straight aired some small jumps but not much else). I’m skiing Canada for 2 months next year and was wondering how long it would take to get decent in the park? I’m pretty fit and can do flips and corks pretty comfortably on a trampoline.

I always thought cork 7 blunts looked sick but wanted to know whether that’s an achievable goal in that timeframe or not? Tips on park progression (order to learn tricks and such) would also be much appreciated!

the first step in progressing to that is learning to jump well. Are you in the front of your boots when you jump, are you balanced in the air. Then the next step is learning 180s and 360s. If you are a gymnast who can actually do reliable cork 7s on a trampoline, I wouldn't say it's out of the question, but I would definitely have solid 360s 540s and 720s(non corked) before trying a corked 720. I don't do corks, but I'm sure someone on here can give you better advice on that. I'd learn backflips too since that will help get you over the invert fear. To progress from no spins to a cork 7 in 2 months is very very ambitious though. The best advice I have is to ski with people in the park who are doing good 3s and ask for their advice. they'll be able to see how you jump and give you pointers better than us on the website.

TLDR: Maybe, but unlikely, with a gymnastics background it could be possible, but even with that it will not be easy.

Couldn't agree more. This is a HUGE task for anyone, with any kind of backround. Not impossible by any means tho.

i have friends who have the same background that went straight to the park and learned how to cork in a season with a success rate on about 7/10. the blunt will be a bit tougher to get in but if you send enough and ask the park rats for tips you might be able to pull it off. i believe in you dude! good luck getting corked!
