Why can't I edit comments

I made a comment and want to change the wording a bit. There is no way to edit it. Am I doing something wrong?

there is a time limit and after that you can't edit it but you can just reply to your own comment and just say what you meant to.

yes it's new and if i recall this new feature is almost 100% thanks to one particular member who abused the absolute fuck out of the edit feature in that 90 page covid thread that turned into a catastrophe
