I think the surplus of cases in republican states is linked more to lack of vaccination, and lack of social distance / partying / covid denying.

I myself am vaccinated but find it ironic when people go to huge indoor venues / close proximity events and expect their mask to make everything better.

There’s been evidence that shows the biggest deterrent to transmission / infection is being outside / keeping windows open.

I’m a complete covid believer, but feel like this is what you get when the government lies to its citizens so regularly that they begin to doubt the truths they say. Sort of like the boy who cried wolf.

You have to remember that things like faucci flip flopping over wether to use a mask or not, the media denying it was lab created at first (which is now finally being considered to be the most likely option) and the fact that Faucci is linked to funding the lab in Wuhan himself / so many other medical fields… That’s all going to make a lot of people not trust anything unfortunately.

Dr. Anthony Faucci reversed the ban on gain of function research in 2017. He directed his funding to eco health alliance headed by Dr. Pete Daszak who then gave funding to the wuhan institute of virology for the study of novel bat corona viruses.

When the pandemic hit do you know who the only American that joined the WHO to investigate the lab was? Dr. Peter Daszak himself, who simply just asked them if it came out of their lab or not. Peter Daszak has already been caught lying claiming there were no live bats within the lab, yet that was disproven.

Dr. Shi, a Chinese virologist along with Faucci have claimed they were not experimenting with gain of function research at this lab (which is extremely dangerous) but it’s important to note that they’re warping the definition of gain of function research. From what they’re claiming, gain of function research is only when you amplify a disease to make it more dangerous and is not when you amplify a corona virus to be able to jump species (which they admit to doing). Which is clearly dangerous as well and something many consider gain of function, not to mention it seems as though scientists are believing they’re lying about not increasing the lethality through gain of function anyways

Covid 19 came out of Wuhan China, it is an extremely unnatural, highly contagious respiratory disease.

And yes there’s absolutely idiotic covid/vaccine deniers within legislation, but there’s also people like Fauci who have caused divide and lost the trust of the general public.

Not to mention the final widespread realization of greed in the medical field.

Even though the vaccine does work, these companies are still making bank off of them and they’re the same companies who have loved our population getting hooked on prescriptions while money keeps flowing into their pockets.

Ivermectin has not shown efficacy in multiple RCTs. It also has shown conflicting evidence. It is still being studied but available quality peer reviewed evidence says it does not work in vivo. It's not a conspiracy. The healthcare field is trying everything under the sun for covid and if ivermectin was known to be beneficial, it would be used. This is like deja vu hydroxychloroquine again.

The lab leak theory says the furin cleavage site, a tiny string of amino acids on the virus, is key to understanding the novel coronavirus’s origin.

“You cannot, in a normal cell culture, maintain the furin cleavage site,” he told me. When the COVID-19 virus is replicated in a cell culture in a lab, he said, the furin cleavage tends to delete itself. Sure thats the only stance you've really taken but you're also in here asking to be spoonfed sources while memeing against masks without bringing any sources of your own to the table. It's just spreading more distrust with medical experts, indirectly platforming misinformation. When faced with sources, its "but tHe ScIEnCe iS CoNFuSinG" like it isn't common sense that masks work. This is a disease that is spread through airborne particles from an infected person's mouth, every person having two barriers between each others' mouths in common spaces limits spread.

Arguing about how experts haven't been perfectly consistent with messaging ignores how the scientific process works when confronted with new situations and data. Opinions and knowledge can change to be more accurate as we learn more about the virus and how it interacts with populations. Somehow changing your opinion has become a sign of weakness and incompetence like it doesn't take more intelligence to take in new information, process it, and admit your prior view was wrong.

The media is some bullshit but they have been saying it isn't safe to try and treat Covid with. Ivermectin has been safe for years because it is prescribed by doctors to cure specific bacterial infections, not viral. Its not that the drug isn't safe on its own, its that it can be dangerous when not prescribed and potentially weaken the immune system of a Covid positive person. I don't slam cough syrup when I get a muscle strain because a study said it can take pain away.

Its also widely available for animal treatment at much higher concentrations, meaning that some idiot thinking that they're "beating the system" will probably end up making themselves sick from overdosing.

You haven't said some crazy take but it contributes to misinformation and vaccine hesitancy if the unverified merits of Ivermectin appear like a get out of jail free card.

I totally agree with all of this, and my statement wasn’t to create vaccine hesitancy but to point out that unfortunately there’s so much distrust in the government and officials that a boy who cried wolf type situation is transpiring, and unfortunately making these people not trust in vaccines. (Which is stupid in my opinion).

In my opinion the people who have still decided to not get vaccinated aren’t going to change their mind anytime soon unfortunately, and we might aswell be putting more effort into other research of drugs like ivermectin (even though it might not be the winning solution) because hopefully we’ll find something besides a vaccine that the loonies will actually take.

Agreed. There isn't anything to lose from researching more. I just think there is a problem with presenting new drugs before they're proven in the face of a now FDA approved vaccine. Hopefully the FDA stamp pushes some people over the line

Well you then know nothing about clinical trials, how to determine efficacy in a clinical manner, or why this matters.

There have been RCT ivermectin studies. These are the gold standard of clinical trials when it comes to examining efficacy of drugs on certain indications. When it comes to ivermectin, they ALL pointed to minimal, if any, efficacy. In other words, taking it is no better than taking a placebo.

I mean, for fucks sake ivermectin was designed to target parasites, not viruses.

The reason the media is saying it's dangerous is due to the fact that ivermectin is often used to treat animals (livestock) and the dosages used in that are MUCH higher than anything used in human trials. Now, people are taking those dosages meant for animals and are basically poisoning themselves. Now, only a few people have actually had to go to the hospital (so far), but why the fuck shouldn't the media tell people that taking a drug that has been shown to have no clinical benefit, in dosage strengths meant for animals, isn't dangerous?!
