NFL 2021-2022 Thread

Preseason kicks off this week with week 1 a little over a month away. Will TB12 take the Bucs back or will Mahomes and the Chiefs get revenge? Or will neither team make the Superbowl and Aaron Rogers gets another ring? Can't wait for the season to kick off.

Hooooooooly shit, yesterday's games were insane! What an exciting end to the regular season! Still giddy that the Niners pulled it off but nervous about the Dallas game. I'll feel like a kid again - when that rivalry was everything.

DingoSeanEvery season the NFL is full of horrible terrible games of terribleness. Borderline unwatchable games even for the most diehard fans of the teams involved... Games where all you can do is just fucking laugh at how bad it is.

What's the difference between the Chargers and Raiders deliberately shanking field goals for straight up laughs for the whole game, and what happened when Heinz Field was turned into a giant mud pit and the game nearly ended 0-0... or better yet, a game where one team runs up a cricket score on the other and it's over by halftime?

In our scenario... two teams shake hands to play for a tie... and both teams have to TRY to not score... while making it LOOK like they are trying to win... That adds up a whole new kind of interesting... because what if ONE guy decides to take it for a touchdown, and now the other team feels like the pact has been broken, then we could see war declared in REAL TIME. We get to see what's effectively a cold war the whole game... where just one rogue general pushing the button on the nuclear missile could open the floodgates to mutually assured destruction...

How fuckin cool is that? Seeing the tactics and the teams fighting with teammates to maintain discipline in a whole new way... my god, it would be the most beautiful dance I've ever seen.

and seeing as this is a spectator sport, and the athletes are out there at the end of the day to dance for their dollar, seeing a hilarious mockery of the game where two teams have to try to mud-bowl it up? Absolutely glorious...

Packers with another disappointing post season. Im more mad at the team itself than the loss. Other than spending time with friends and family it’s been a total waste watching them these past 8 years or so.

This was the last year to win it with Rogers and it’s lost. Like tears. In rain.

Rodgers just can’t get it done in big games. 50 yards in the 2nd. That’s just unacceptable.

Just can’t get it done in the post season. It’s always a meltdown and never a shootout/did our best type loss.

Packers special teams has been straight ass all year and it finally came back to
really hurt them in a big moment.

even chiefs fans do... they got screwed by the same bullshit a few years ago if im not mistaken.

I would make it so both teams get to touch the ball at least one drive in OT, and no special teams units are allowed.

No kickoffs. No punts. No field goals. No PAT's. The Special teams units become cheerleaders in OT just like starting pitchers are in the late innings in baseball.

Just straight up 4th down conversions, going for the touchdown, and 2 point attempts allowed.

Oh, and each drive, has its own ticking clock. You get 1 minute to drive down the field from the logo.

You get one time out. If you run out of time, it's a turnover. The team must manage the clock well and score quickly.

This is simple enough, forces teams to piece together touchdown drives and they cannot play conservative, nor for field position.

How old is stafford? I feel like he 100% deserves to finally be winning some games. Jimmy G is lucky he’s on a good team and he’s so god damn beautiful because he has been playing like shit.

mid-30s I think? I think him being on the rams at the level he's been playing at is still a good fit though. Detroit was obviously holding him back so being able to get those big game opportunities for him is cool to see.

Plenty of F bombs around our small children (mostly me). Possibly some crying in the washroom (me). There was definitely a drunk Niners fan in my house, and no - it wasn't either of my children.

Arizona Cardinals

The franchise began play in Chicago in 1898 before moving to St. Louis in 1960 and Arizona in 1988.

Team owner Chris O'Brien purchased used and faded maroon jerseys from the University of Chicago in 1901 and dubbed the color of his squad's new outfits "cardinal red." A nickname was born.

The team adopted the cardinal bird as part of its logo as early as 1947 and first featured a cardinal head on its helmets in 1960.

Cleveland Browns

There's some debate about whether Cleveland's professional football franchise was named after its first coach and general manager, Paul Brown, or after boxer Joe Louis, who was nicknamed the "Brown Bomber."

Team owner Mickey McBride conducted a fan contest in 1945 and the most popular submission was Browns. According to one version of the story, Paul Brown vetoed the nickname and chose Panthers instead, but a local businessman informed the team that he owned the rights to the name Cleveland Panthers.

Brown ultimately agreed to the use of his name and Browns stuck.

overall great game, sucks the ref decided to start calling shit in the last 4 min of the game, it was such a nice hands off game until then. bengals blew it in the end, running perine on 3rd down again was just a bad call.
