NFL 2021-2022 Thread

Preseason kicks off this week with week 1 a little over a month away. Will TB12 take the Bucs back or will Mahomes and the Chiefs get revenge? Or will neither team make the Superbowl and Aaron Rogers gets another ring? Can't wait for the season to kick off.

Kinda sad this is prolly the last year Rodgers will be playing for the Pack. Might have to find a way to sell my share once we suck shit. It’s not like I vote on their board member elections anyways

Bills fan here

anyone notice the bills playing all the best team in the afc 2 seasons in a row? This is the third season in a row we play the Titans. Plus the packers, saints, colts, bucs, Steelers, etc. not a conspiracy theorist but it seems odd. Why doesn’t the NFL want the bills to succeed

Sounds like a PR stunt to be honest. Buffalo would riot if they did. The owners aren’t happy with the stadium and need money from the local government to fix it.

You should be stoked to have a tough schedule to prove the worth of your team, an easy schedule doesn't win a championship (or lose it).

Horse shit. The fuckin pegulas are loaded. They could buy 3 stadiums. They’re just greedy and don’t want to pay taxes on the stadium. That’s what insiders are saying. It’s just a huge stunt to scare Erie county into giving them money. I agree that it should be partly funded via tax payers but not solely that’s fucking absurd

Honestly the pegulas could care less about what wny thinks or does because their never here. Everyone talks about how the bills are owned by western New Yorkers. When in reality their from PA and don’t even come to Buffalo unless it’s for business

Why should the government/taxpayers pay for a stadium which they receive no financial returns on? That's garbage. It's a private business. I understand some governments will help with construction since sports teams create business to improve the local economy, but it shouldn't be an obligation.

Thank you for this lol. It's so dumb and clearly the result of lobbying local elected officials who sign off on this shit. Now if there was a contract where the government received payments until their initial investment was returned, with interest, then it would be a good idea. Otherwise it's a freebie.

Could you imagine walking into city hall and asking for money to build a business and then never having to pay it back? That's the greatest business plan ever because you never have to pay it back.

Local governments have money to build stadiums but take a year to replace a street light. People shit their pants when we had a vaccine lottery but are blind and somehow OK with spending fortunes on sports stadiums. Fucking columbus gave $146 million in unrestricted spending money for a new Crew Stadium because the owner threatened to move, and close to $750mil for the entire downtown project. Additionally they gave them some of the land for free in prime downtown real estate. And another thing I've noticed is if you have enough money and lobbying power you can literally do anything. A downtown hospital is putting in a new building but there's not enough room without going into neighborhoods.... So the city and state have literally rerouted the highway at the center of I-70/I-71 interchange to make room. Construction for two fucking years.

And money and power influence everything. There's a select group of people who run this city behind the scenes. All the rich folks in columbus sit on the boards of all sorts of businesses here, and the boards of course make the financial decisions. I remember being shocked to learn that my business plan for extra FTEs for my department eventually had to be approved by the fucking wexners. Like come on man.

Yeah I 100percwnt agree but there isn’t even restaurants around the stadium. The local economy gets nothing when a billionaire gets even richer, with no plans for infrastructure around the stadium in that cost. The bills can leave along with the stadium. The Pegulas have the cash for that and if they don’t wanna fork it up they can fuck off.

Yo brady had "That" look on his face after the cowboys kicked that field goal and you knew it was over for them haha. What a game. Did brady and bruce ayrans deliberately take that false start penalty to stop the clock? Their game management during the winning drive as unreal and why they're the defending champs. They burned through their 3 downs by throwing the ball away to burn the clock off and setup the game winner so that's why I thought they took one for the win.

They had to burn a timeout to stop the clock, so no, a false start isn't exactly a strategy. Looked like brady was just a little off on the snap, obviously went fine after that. Never doubt tb12 with 1-2 mins left.
