Bindings for my gf?

Got her on 2 sticks instead of one this year ( kidding snowboardings sick).

she’s about 5’8 145, just got some line Pandora 94s, but I’m looking at bindings. Should she go with a marker griffon or marker squire? I’m lookin at evo also and they have a 2019 model for 150, but that griffon may be too old. They do have last year squires.

Go for last years squires in my opinion they look steezy and they’re not too old to be old wave/homeless

Squires are garbage even if she isn’t riding park or super hard. Get her a pair of attack 13’s they are currently $142 on evo. The 11’s and 12’s are even cheaper. They will be a super solid binding that she can progress with and they won’t take a shit on her.

I did like the attacks, but marker just has a ton more options for what boots can fit in. She doesn’t have boots yet waiting for ski season. Just don’t want her to be limited on boot.

Why not just wait to mount the skis til
after you have boots? Not sure the range of adjustment on the attacks but it should be close to the squires.

The bsl range is bigger with attacks. Also any modern binding should be gripwalk compatible if that's to what OP is referring?

cop her some looks depending what skis she rocks get what color you want but i own some looks and everyone rocks em so i would just go with that

what's wrong with squires?

I ride squires in the park. Sometimes the brakes don't release when I stomp my skis off and they go flying down the mountain... ok while writing this comment I realized they may not be the best lol

They are a youth binding basically. Not built very well and not made to hold up to the skiing most of us do. The attacks are the same price point and are some of the best bindings made. I’m a pivot guy always have been but after getting a pair of attacks I am sold. Hard to justify pivots with the quality and performance of attacks at that low of a price.

I love my griffons but the binding can be hard to step into for lighter people. the griffon is definitely built more bomb than the squire tho

You can buy pivots at that price if you do it in the off season. For OP’s purposes it seems unnecessary and attack 11’s will be perfect but for the rest of us, just cop pivots from Corbett’s in the summer…

12’s for 160 shipped with exchange rate last summer. Gold 15’s for 230 shipped this summer. I can justify an extra 20 bucks lol

Squires will actually be fine for your girl. I know plenty of ripping ladies who have had no problems with them.

The bad rap is from dudes who are trying to save a buck while they also scrub out every landing

Between your two choices, don’t get a griffon. She will most like bottom out the DIN range (ideally she’d like to be in the middle). That said, if you still want to do marker I’d suggest the 11.0 tp. 3 piece heel makes stepping in and out 100 times easier than squires.

Also check out the Warden 11 or Attack 11, the warden has more elastic travel.

Warden 11 has the weakest heel track of all time and I cannot recommend it for anyone other than old tiny granny. It is one of the few bindings I have ever called 'a bad binding'

My bad I was talking about how what type of boots. Like we’re waiting for our local shop to get back in service after taking summer off. The attacks take 2/3 of the main boots.(I think at boots are not compatible) while marker bindings have all 3

The warden 13 is a fantastic binding, same heel as the sth 13 which I will always recommend. Letting the warden 11 share the name has always irked me because they're no where near the same quality of bindinging.

Whereas the attack 11/squire are much more similar to there bigger counterparts

What makes a bindings bad ? Because I have extra bindings which are squires and am thinking about throwing them on my crushing cans
