Aha, yes as it happens if you release large quantities of a gas that helps to trap heat in the atmosphere, the planet increases in temperature very quickly. Aha, funny how that works right, aha.
we've had record breaking temps all week and they're supposed to be followed up with 4 days of low precipitation thunderstorms pretty sure fires are coming my way
Sad situation, hotter the air the more water it holds which makes me wonder if that's why there's droughts and these reservoirs in the sw are drying up.
Broke 3 records, 3 days in a row, hit 121 Fahrenheit, and then the town burned to the ground. Like, everything. In a fairly temperate area of BC. Not some desert or dry foothills.
But uh, yeah, that whole climate change thing? Probably not real.

That hot, moist air tends to move other places. Namely east. Midwest already has been having some serious floods and there will be more to come. Michigan is without any natural disasters, at least it's unusual to have large-scale disasters often. Our big issue is flooding and storms...and when that hot super charged air from out west hits the cool great lakes...
Yeah, I'd imagine flooding in the midwest is about to be insane for the next decade.
East coast don’t sound so bad when it’s summer huh?

Agreed
everytime I say east coast I always forget there’s more to the ec than just where I live, south pretty much doesn’t exist in my mind
but for real pa and north is always pretty chill summer/winter both, no volcanos, floods, avy, drought … nada…wouldn’t mind a mtn or 10 but I can travel to those, overall the northeast is nice to live in , I know I’ll miss it when I move west
LonelyNorthern east coast sure. Everywhere else has to many people and not enough lake superiors

Holy shit, this is unimaginable. and of course, because if it's ever snowed, climate change must be a crazy conspiracy.
I don't know but I don't have A/C and I'm dying. Denver's been over 100 degrees consistently. If I liked the heat more than the mountains I'd live by a beach.

This graph means nothing without the graph of global temperature over the same period.

Gonna get downvoted but climate is always changing my guy. Has to do with solar orbit, axis, and ice cover.
I’ll agree that’s without a doubt part of it, and the original source of climate change, but we humans are def making it worse, we’ve changed the planets mass changing its axis, altering precession forever, plus pollutants

Oh for sure not denying that. I just cringe a little when people use buzzwords like climate change as if it’s some new phenomena.
Also mass is mass, I don’t think moving mass from one area to another (like the super dam in China) will alter precession in any tangible way. Earths precession is incredibly stable, especially compared to the other planets, like Mars for instance.
If anything I think we are closing in on another ice age. The additional C02 will continue to melt the ice caps, diluting the oceans with the potential to stall the Atlantic current.

Nothing here I’d argue except I do think a change in distribution of mass could affect precession, whether we’ve done so or not what do I know, lotta weight from people, asphalt and the dam over there
theres also some claims that the earth is wobbling and shifting its axis in a way some scientists say shouldn’t, and they use the mass thing as backing for their belief, again idk right or wrong, just saying it’s out there
For all our sakes I like your natural progression and approaching ice age more, I’m used to skiing ice, only thing is, won’t the stalling of ocean currents have some other pretty bad effects?

Very bad effects, no cold water to cool shit down, insanely huge hurricanes etc

So in your moderate, not brainwashed by fox news at all brain, you don't think that filling our atmosphere with greenhouse gases is affecting our climate? It's just solar orbit, axis, and ice cover?
One global warming denier in the chat downvoting this... Sheesh.

Isn't Denver technically a desert climate? But the whole country has been under wicked heat waves lately so this ain't just out west.

Don't even bother arguing. Wasting your breath.
The denver area has been pretty cool all things considered this summer. But yeah we don't get fuck for rain and 100 degree days aren't uncommon in june and july.
Dude there’s no need to hurl insults when you don’t like someone’s thinking ,opinion or standpoint, he didn’t insult you at all, what he said is backed by a great many, he never actually said GW wasn’t a contributor. This constant I’m over here and your over there so FU, this political indifference it’s all so stupid, petty, childish, worthless
Just as you think my response to you is pointless, so was yours, they both fell on deaf ears, you actually think your gonna change someone? Your not. Better off putting that energy into getting along.

I genuinely love when idiots like you jump to these weird conclusions, it’s entertaining. I don’t think I ever said I don’t think it contributes, simply that there are much larger, natural phenomena that cause global warming and cooling cycles to occur. That and saying “climate change” is cringey, you seem like the type to us the phrase as if it’s not normal.
Do me a favor, if humans are causing climate change can you educate me on the Green Sahara?

You're right it is a natural cycle, but we are certainly accelerating it, resulting in species die offs and increased incidence of severe weather.
HypeBeastYou're right it is a natural cycle, but we are certainly accelerating it, resulting in species die offs and increased incidence of severe weather.
As you said before, don't bother arguing. Charles can't process that type of information.
he ever said otherwise…
I know I said both are probably true, def not worth getting all worked up over today, arguing isn’t gonna help any of us, if we want change it’s gotta start with us, then “we” gotta take it to the higher ups, but how far do we go and how much can we negate this shift?
maybe we’re better off having a civilization that is prepared for different climate extremes and of course some kind of preservation plan such as hanging out in the space station for those lucky few til shit shifts back to a tolderable “norm”, seems like there’s just too many people out of line for a “go green” campaign to work.
