I am so tired of wearing masks. I am vaccinated and yet I still need to wear this thing on my face. Fauci can't give us a number that is an acceptable rate of vaccination or infection that we can work towards. So many of the mask policies are arbitrary and useless, and most people know that.

What will it take for people to just say fuck it and live like normal people again!?

Posting an article without vetting the source just because it fits your narrative, is just as bad as intentionally spreading misinformation. Nearly everything in that article has been disproven multiple times over. Plus the author has a Doctorate in Psychology, who self-describes himself to be a cardiologist. He's not an epidemiologist, not a virologist, or any field relating to viral spread for that matter. The article has spelling errors, misquotes, and the citations aren't even done properly, so it's nearly impossible to check said citations.

Most of you skied with some type of mask on your face for your most of your life before before covid, and never complained about it. I'm reading lots of studies out of Europe that tend to disagree with this study that are basically saying transmission between mask wearers and nonmask wearers is so close that it's negligible. I also really don't believe any american media which is why i'm more prone to reading studies out of europe.

I've seen studies proving both that masks work and that they dont. been awhile but the ones showing they do work were very controlled, wearing the appropriate, clean mask, AND social distancing. Not necessarily reflective of real behavior. The proof for me is the states/countries with no lockdowns doing just as well as anyone else.
There was a study out of Taiwan I believe, at the beginning of covid, when people were going around maskless because it was so early on, they contact traced thousands of people and didnt find one case of transmission in places like grocery stores, and even only a couple at the work place. almost all the transmission of covid occured at home. which is consistent with CDC data saying 14 minutes at 6 ft indoors to contract covid from someone, and 7 minutes close contact, face to face talking etc, no mask. and pretty much impossible to get it outdoors. so dont carry a conversation with someone for 7 minutes face to face in the check out line and you'll be good. No reason to be one of those retards wearing masks outside.

Yeah I could wear a mask if theres a slight possibility of maybe saving a life.
you know what else I could do? I could stop eating sugar, processed foods, soy, canola oil, etc, so i dont become diabetic. I can not be fat, I can get a shit ton of sunlight/vitamin D which is as if not more effective against covid than a vaccine. I can not sit inside, eating crap food, drinking, watching netflix, staying up late fucking over my circadian rhythm, etc. The people dying of covid have an average of 3.7 co-morbidities, its almost exclusively obese people, diabetics, people with heart disease, low vit-D levels, or a combination. yet we pretend its people not wearing masks that are the problem.

Can I virtue signal like the mask nazi's because I take care of my health and immune system? Maybe we should start shaming fat people instead. health is something YOU control and are responsible for. I'll wear a mask when the people under this lockdown/mask mass psychosis stop being unhealthy fat fucc's.

I'd like to see how many, if any, lives the lockdowns actually saved, lets be generous and say 50k in the US, hell even 100k. was it really worth 200k small businesses permanently going under, overdose deaths jumping 20-30% in a lot of states, some areas reporting up to a 70% increase in suicide. People dying by missing hospital visits for fear of covid or "overwhelming" the hospitals.

Pushed an estimated 8 million, and growing, into poverty while causing the largest upward transfer of wealth in history. people in the 25-45 year old range, ie, the population in the prime of their lives, are literally more likely to die from a result of lockdowns than from covid itself. Its looking more and more like lockdowns didnt do jack shit, and we just added a bunch of death, depression, killed small businesses, poverty, etc. and made the billionaires and massive corporations bigger, to make people feel safer.

If people could see past their eyelashes and have even the smallest of balls to think independent from the tribe they'd realize what they're contributing to by going along with this. its why i want to punch myself in the dick every time i wear a mask inside a business.

One thing to keep in mind or consider, is that most science takes place over 10+ years. Folks test hypotheses, develop new theories, suggest previous conclusions were wrong, and then iterate on it. This is over the course of many peer reviewed articles. I do not know how well equipped most scientific fields are to develop solid science over the course of a few months to a year. I think quantum mechanics took 40+ years. Many relatively trivial studies take 2+ years from conception to peer reviewed publication.

When you also throw in the uphill battle of dealing with public opinion and click-bait media, doing objective science is even more difficult.

A Reuters article from June last year? It’s well know the original estimates and computer models for covid deaths were extremely off base, and based off a death rate that was much worse than reality. it was never going to be the millions of deaths they were estimating early on last year.

unfortunately we took a lot of actions based off those models and still haven’t adjusted. Now that covid proved not to be nearly as bad as was predicted. But you know, people can’t let go of their fear porn addiction..

plus now a year later we have actual evidence. How do you explain Harris county (Houston) Miami-dade, and other county’s in both states? South Dakota? Sweden? No lockdowns, just people using their own judgement. Why did their death counts just end up... average?

How did LA end up so terrible with some of the strictest most ridiculous lockdown and mask laws in the country?

I will give it to you that some of the very early actions, restricting travel from some places, and the initial week or two of lockdown was probably smart and allowed the infection rate to spread out. But after that. lockdowns have been mostly useless and I haven’t seen a study showing it actually saved lives, plenty of opinion pieces but that about it.

People like myself get it, we really do. 'The science' is easy to understand. Wear the mask, your covid boogers don't travel as far if you sneeze in public, or have covid. I don't sneeze on people in public and I also don't have covid so here's where I'm at...

I just don't care about any of it.

If I want to go see my granny in the old folks home, of course I'm going to wear a mask. If I MUST patronize a business that insists that I wear a mask, sure. Other than that, the mask can fuck off. I literally can't be bothered to have something covering my face so that other people can feel cozy and safe. It's irrational to be terrified of something so benign. It's all just gone way too far and it's completely unnatural for people to be covering their faces like this.

I literally just don't care about any of it anymore and I'm doing great. I feel great too.

After spending a month in florida and not wearing a mask anywhere, nor anyone screaming at me to wear a mask I feel like I've truly seen the other side of this equation. If masks really did make such a difference, shouldn't I have caught covid going out every night and having my foods and drinks served by maskless people? ... Imagine that. Wait staff serving food maskless??

Shouldn't the state of Florida be back into a fullblown pandemic without its masks? But it's not. And the hilarious part is even half the old people over there don't bother with a mask. "To save just one life"... so you mean basically to save someone's life whose above 70 years old then. Because i've already given you the statistic of ages 70 and under. Why the fuck would I wear a mask down there if they're not? Once summer hits the northeast I think the mask rule will start to finally dwindle.

Once I’m fully vaccinated probably done with the masks. My gym, though having signs on the door stating the need to wear a mask, doesn’t enforce it once you’re inside and almost no one wears them. NH just did away with their mask mandate as well.

Looks like I'm now allergic to surgical masks and N95's for some reason. I get a fat lip as if I'd just been punched and the swollen area goes numb. Maybe it's how the sanitization treatment they use on the masks during packaging? I'm vaccinated so I don't care that much but it's annoying af just trying to avoid getting weird looks from people. Maybe I'll temp tattoo "vaccinated" on my forehead.

Also, even if you dont agree with masks because some source you saw on facebook said they are unconstitutional or the sign of the devil, fine, its your right to believe that. but that DOES NOT make you any better to disregard a businesse's policy just because you personally disagree with it. Its not fair to the wage working employees forced to wear it for long ass days, its not fair to others in the store who have different views than you. A mask is like a seatbelt, yes the government tells you to wear it, but it really is in your advantage to wear it anyways to keep yourself safe

CrunnchyVanManAlso, even if you dont agree with masks because some source you saw on facebook said they are unconstitutional or the sign of the devil, fine, its your right to believe that. but that DOES NOT make you any better to disregard a businesse's policy just because you personally disagree with it. Its not fair to the wage working employees forced to wear it for long ass days, its not fair to others in the store who have different views than you. A mask is like a seatbelt, yes the government tells you to wear it, but it really is in your advantage to wear it anyways to keep yourself safe

If a business still requires wearing a mask, sure go ahead. If it doesn’t? I’m not wearing one then. I’m one of those employees that has to wear it all day for work, so excuse me if I don’t want to (once I’m vaccinated) when I’m outside of work running errands. Or outside (lol). Or hiking a trail. Call me radical I guess.

Probably wear once cuz I don’t wanna be the dumb asshole without one, whether mask is required or not. But if it’s the opposite and I’m vaccinated then I probably won’t wear one
