Atomic Bent 100 21/22 vs Faction Prodigy 2.0

Hi guys !

I'm skiing mostly in the Alps (Between italy and France). I am an advance skier (I don't know how to judge really and don't want to sound arrogant. I think I'm a good skier. On park I can cork3, back, front, flat3-5, misty or whatever it is called ...) that skis everything, but mostly park. Let's say 60 park/40 cruise the resort, have fun ...

I have riden K2 and Line, but did not fit my style of skiing. Then, 2 years ago, I went for the faction prodigy 2.0 and really liked them. So light compared to line and k2. Only drawback is the durability, broke 2 pairs in one season, could be unlucky tho.

Last season I bought a pair of powder ski, atomic bent 120 : pure joy to ride. Extremely easy to ride, light af compared to my old old sir francis bacon, even on piste it was great ! Had a ton of fun on them.

This year I love both design (yes, as stupid as it sounds, it matters to me, If the ski is beautiful, I'm excited to ride it) of the prodigy 2.0 21 (black one with the animal on the topsheet) and the atomic bent 21/22 (blue under). I have seen so many pros riding the atomic bent 100 that they must be really nice to ride. Looks way more flex than the previous year, more fun probably.

I can't choose between both. Love my atomic bent 120, and loved my faction prodigy 2.0 ... I need a new pair for 60park/40 cruise the resort, and both atomic bent 100 and prodigy 2.0 seems to be a good choice for me.

So, has anyone had the opportunity to ride both Atomic bent 100 21/22 and Prodigy 2.0, what did you prefer ? why?

I would go with the prodigy if you are good at park, it’s better park ski, the bent 100 are more of an all mountain skis. If you want a ski that can handle powder better get the prodigy 3.0 or 4.0

Dont think there have been any construction changes to the bentchetler 100 so its still more of a 70/30 allmountain/park ski, don't think they are what you are looking for. Having said that, I've never ridden the prodigy 2.0, so I can't compare them but I'm willing to bet the 2.0s are a better fit for what you want to do.

I have the prodigy 1.0 and 3.0 and while they are great skis, their durability is the worst I've ever had. Maybe I'm unlucky

Since I'm not skiing that much a season(at least compared to most of you I think), durability is not my main concern. But I can only agree with their poor durability.
I'm more concern about, wich one would be the more fun to ride, do classic sh*t around the resort (speed, carve, 360, back and fall) and shred the park.

The Prodigy has been vastly upgraded since yours with a better shape for all mountain performance(less taper for better carving ability), slightly wider tip/tail for better float and like all Faction skis is now made in the Fisher ski plant so build quality is WAY up now. Factions reliability issues should be in the past now.

Mount plus 3cm on the Prodigy which would be the “new school/Candide” line for great park/all mountain use.

Saw some insane pricing on Skioutlet.ca if you’re in Canada on a lot of Faction skis.

Agree that the Bent 100 is a good ski as well but a little too light and not as balanced flex pattern(soft up front and pretty stiff underfoot/tail) vs the Prodigy 2.0 which is solid underfoot and more playful tip/tail.

Thanks Greg_K for the advise ! Looks like the prodigy would be a more fun skis, that I will enjoy a little bit more compared to the bent 100.

If I get the prodigy 2.0, I was planning to mount them -2 or -1.5 from true center, no idea how far from true center is “newschool” on their prodigy series. They only say "The Newschool mount (30 mm forward) is designed for people that want a playful ski, for twin tip inspired riding."

New school/Candide around -4 to -5ish cm back on that ski as it’s pretty directional in shape. I’d go -3cm min with that ski for your park/all mountain use. More stable and better carving there. If you were only park then maybe -2cm.

I'm adding another ski to my choice dilemma. What about the volk revolt 104 ? Especially compared to prodigy 2.0/3.0 ! Is this a playful ski ... ?

Revolt 104 is a very stiff park ski, not that playful

No Volk makes really stiff ski. If you want a playful ski that does all right at all mountain get the edollo, and if you want noodle skis get the blends. Both these ski are soft and playful, they do all right at all mountain, I would also recommend the Line Chronic or the Armada arv 96 if you want a better all mountain option, both of these are softer than the prodigy but not as soft as the edollo. The chronic has insane pop and is a 70/30 (park/all mountain) ski so I think it would fit you.
