Was at habitat for humanity today looking for some bricks for my house and instead came across a pair of the 2010 K2 Obsethed in 179. Been keeping my eyes peeled for any Ryan Schmies era K2s for quite a while so super stoked to randomly find these at a home improvement store. I’m assuming those bindings are probably fucked by now and they look a little far back anyways. Any recommendations on where to mount them?
You can’t really tell in the pics, but apart from some chips in the topsheet, these look pretty much brand new. Absolutely zero scratches on the bases, the edges look amazing... looks like they were used on a couple powder days and that was it
What do you guys think, are these bindings to be trusted? Rossi axial 2, circa 2010 based on that they’ve only been mounted once. Don’t really feel like buying another new set of pivots, especially on a ski im not gonna use a lot, but I’m open to used stuff for the low. So stoked to take these out for a rip!

Have them tested if you are super worried if they fail throw a pair of cheap attacks on them, but I have a pair of axials that are still kicking on my hellbents.
I wouldn't trust them since you don't know how long they've been stagnant for. You basically just got free skis, it's worth it to your knees to put bindings on them you trust.
I would be surprised if that binding is still indemnified, so unless you mount your own skis a shop probably won’t work on those bindings for you, even if they do still test fine which I also kinda doubt.
Hell yeah man! I have a pair of the same ones in the 189 (measures 194). Such a fun ski. Gave my buddy a suitcase of pbr for them and it's one of the better deals I have gotten on skis.
Rode them for a solid season and put probs 50ish days on them. Get the edges sharp and they will carve damn well. They also charged very very well. Put quite a few squallywood lines under them.

Might not be in spec anymore but they were a solid pair of bindings at the time. I have friends still on them with no issues, but your knees your choice. If you are going to use them make sure to lube up your butthole before you go shred.

I’ll screw around with the forward pressure a bit when I get home to see if I can make them work at least temporarily so I can take them for a spin tomorrow for some spring laps, maybe some moguls if that’s still a thing at snowbowl rn, idk. For the time being, as long as it’ll hold my boot that’s all that matters.
