Spring skiing = throwing new stuff

finally i’m getting a weekend of sun and warm so i want some tips on a few tricks that i want to try. chances are i’ll get to the mountain and have 10 tricks i want to try and actually end up doing 2 but still help


frontflip

switch 360
handdrag 360
switch tail bud 360
backflip (almost definitely not doing this but i want it to be in the back of my head anyways)
pre180/nosebutter 360 off jump

note: i have small features to work with but i think there all still possibilities

Find the best video of the trick you want to do (not tutorial) and watch it many many times watching everything the skier does from his head to his feet and try to mimic it

What tricks do you already have? Also once you learn to takeoff switch switch 3s are super easy, just gotta commit.

i have 3s and switch 1s but i’m a little sketched to switch 1 on the jump with a steeper landing at my resort and that would be the one i’d be doing it on. i bet i can do that one easy

I learned sw 3s off of cat tracks

there’s this one spot where i like to 3 or 1 that’s basically a cat track so i’ll try it there

As long as you’re fully extended off the jump, spot the landing and land with your hands in front you’ll be landing centred easy. Trick is to not spin while you’re still on the jump and pop hard

Hand drag 3’s all day!

Sit down, carve the takeoff in your spin direction, tighten your core, spot your landing. The hardest part is just being patient.. they’re actually really easy

540s are easy, and I think they feel way better than 360s. Especially when you stomp them.
