Maybe this is just me but I feel like I enjoy ski movies/edits a lot more if I can see the skiers face and know know what they look like. I wanna know how stoked they were on landing something hype, or how they act when they aren't skiing, it feels like a vid is so much more memorable if I actually have a personality that I can connect to the skiing I am watching. Seems like a lot of people are trying to copy Candide's whole faceless mysterious skier thing but that only works for him cuz hes so legendary. For everyone else it just makes them forgettable and generic. I think a great example of being able to see a person's face is in Rudy Lepine's NEVERMIND segment, which starts at 9:45
https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/979406/NEVERMINDRudy's part isn't exceptionally gnarly or anything, I just really fuck with the whole vibe that it gives off and that's why I can remember his part 6 months after it came out, and I think part of the vibe is that you can see his reaction to everything that is happening.
