Replying to Ski Advice
Hi everyone,
a lot of shops and ski resorts are clearing their stocks / demos these days, so i am looking to buy another ski for next season (or even remaining of this season). First, answering the questions in template:
LOCATION: North Vancouver, BC, mostly skiing at Grouse Mountain, few days in Revelstoke and Whistler
HEIGHT/AGE/WEIGHT: 185 CM / 38 / 88 kg
ABILITY LEVEL: intermediate, skiing for the last 4 years, but have skied around 150 days so far.
BUDGET: hopefully less than $1000, but can spend more
WHAT KIND OF SKI DO YOU WANT: mostly skiing on groomed runs.
I currently have 2 pair of skis: 186cm Nordica Navigator (85 underfoot as far as i remember) and 186 cm enforcer (115 underfoot for rare powder days). 99% of time, specially locally (skiing at Grouse mountain) i use the Navigator. I feel it is very stable at high speed, but I feel i skid more than carve at lower speed due to its stiffness. For groomed runs, if i want to buy a ski that is a bit softer ( i.e. easier to carve at lower speeds, but hopefully still can handle speed still), what do you guys recommend? A lot of people praising Elan Ripstick 96, what do u guys think of those?
thanks!
