Boot tightness/stiffness conundrum- comfort vs. control

Got new Intuition PowerWraps in my FTs cuz the stock ones felt mushed out/too roomy in spots. These new ones are super tight and I love the control and connectedness I have over the ski now— but man, they have barely any “suspension” now, I feel every single bump I hit to the point where it gets painful and annoying.

Is there any way to find a balance, or is this always gonna be a tradeoff we face? Can a boot be tight and snug and max “connectedness” while also forgiving?

Should I try my new tighter liner with a softer flex tongue? Mine are 8s

Go to a huge ski outlet and try on every boot they have until you find the best fit.

fit is more important in my opinion. If you have a rigid boot that hurts to crank down you wont have as good control/connection as you will have with a comfy boot you can crank down without it hurting

Dumb question but have you gotten them molded already?

Haha of course, if a shop sold anyone an intuition without offering to mold right away, they should probably be fired 😂

lmao I had to ask, I would just got to a shop and try on as many boots as possible and just ask question after question... happened with me and I totally had to change my size/shape of boots

The #1 thing is proper fitting boot, if they fit very well before the intuition then the new liner needs broke in, if they didn’t, you need to see a good boot fitter, one who measures all dimensions of your foot, instep, ankle and calf, either for a new boot or to get your current boots modded( ground foot beds, foam supports, foot beds, posting, canting, molding, punching, booster straps )
You should not have to crank your boots they should be firm, supportive, warm and comfortable with 0 wiggle room. The proper flex, also matters.

Intuition has different thicknesses in certain areas depending on the model.

How many days do you have in the Intuitions? They start out really rigid and tend to get worked in kinda slowly, which I actually like. But I don't know that this would relate to your suspension issue. What footbeds do you use?
