Loose pivot dildo

Lame

Anyone ever have that little piece pop out of their pivots? Also the heel is noticeably loose and moves around a bit without a boot in it. Not sure if these issues are mutually exclusive or not but I would imagine so. Anyways how concerned should I be about this ?

Don't ride em til you contact look and get them fixed. That housing solidifies the breaker bar in the back which is attached thru it by a rivet. Without that, the bar under the heel piece could come off. While that bar has no influence once the dildo is engaged, it does provide a weak spot where the rivet is and could cause some pretty big issues with actually getting your boots into the bindings correctly.

General rule of thumb w pivots: you can mix and match and modify the AFDS, base plates, brakes etc all you want, but as soon as you either lose or snap something, prioritize your knees over a day on hill

my 18s have a shit ton missing and the entire heel piece is cracked pretty bad but I still ski them so I say it's probably fine but take it to a shop and get a second opinion if you value your knees

To me it looks like the piece that came off is simply a cover to keep grease in/dirt out. It doesn't look like it should impact the function of the binding at all. Is the other binding similarly loose? If not then I'm likely wrong and you should get it fixed. My experience is the dildo does get a little floppy with age and use.

just for reference, ive got some pivots that are really wobbly when disengaged. ive had no performance issues but havent ridden them that much. when the boot clicks in it takes out all the slack.

Yea I threw the boots en em after I finished waxing and tuning. Felt sold with no real play, guess we’ll see if I manage to blow it up tomorrow.

Unfortunately no this side is significantly looser than the other and they are on their first season so they should still be tight.

It’s kinda hard to see in video but easy to hear or feel in hand. Just concerned about the amount of play, but it becomes tight once the boots are in and the forward pressure locks everything up. @anders_a
