How to Pop/Ollie Higher?

So theres this steel picnic table across the street from my dorm (the type with the wire surfaces and a thick coat of paint) that I wanted to jib real bad but when I went out to harass it I couldn't leap high enough to get on top of even the bench part, either ollying or plain jumping. Is there some exercise/method/tips I should be applying here or should I just give in and build a kicker?
on arv86s btw, theyre not too heavy/stiff for this right? thought picnic tables would be in the "beginner" tier of urban stuff...

Build a small bump and really pop into it as a lip. It’s just practice more than anything. I used to be the same now I can get over stuff like 2 feet off the ground. Not huge yet but it takes time. Really lean into the tails at first and just get them to land on top of something and eventually try and jump over it. A good way for me was a low tube trying to jump over it

Living in a dorm and the snow outside is a bit crap rn so I've been laying down some towels for protection and just practicing ollies in my room. Anyone else try something like this?

Throw your weight back and toes up then suck your feet up as fast and as high as you can. Helps if your skis aren’t super stiff. One of those things where you just get better at it over time without even realizing.

Even a small bump will help you ollie way higher than just on flat. Other than that it's just repetition and really loading your weight into the tails to start the pop.

Almost similar to skate boarding. Ollies height in some situations depend on how far you can suck your knees up. Also don’t forget to rly rock back onto the tails

When I ollie, I don't really even think about jumping too much. The more you load back onto your tails, the more your skis are going to rebound and push you into the air. They won't do ALL the work, you'll have to pop a bit yourself, but I'd say focus more on getting your weight back onto the tails than just jumping into the air.
