HELP! Getting a new pair of Skis, Need help deciding what would fit best with my ski style

Hello, my name is Benjamin and I ski in the EAST COAST CANADA.Been skiing for 15 years give or take, been getting into more of the ungroomed moguls and playing around in the trees, as well been hitting the park more and more (Rails, Boxes, Jumps).

I have been looking for a new pair of skis that are a bit more playful but made for all Mountain. I am looking for a ski that has flex, will preform in the ungroomed conditions, can butter easily, but will be light enough to play around.

i am 27, 6'1, 170lbs, currently on the Rossignol S5's.

My choices are either the ARV 96s or the 2021 Revolt 104's. If you can give me a good binding to go with it that would be amazing!

Im trying to buy them this week as well! So looking forward to your responses!

I know, but they are out of budget. I have a friend at the shop in Montreal and he would be selling me the Revolts for 500 (without binding) and the ARVs for the same price without binding.

I dont have any experience with those skis but for bindings pivots or tyrollia attacks are both pretty strong. I have attacks and they hold up great haven’t had any issues

If you're hitting rails, I cannot recommend getting used skis enough. You can often find great deals on your local facebook marketplace, and you save a bunch of money on a pair of skis that will get damaged from rails. Save money, spend the excess on boots. Figure out which ski you want, and then find it online used for a year ago's model if construction is the same.

Thats what im going to be making my S5's. I already have a couple cracked edges on it, so i plan on riding them till they snap in the park.

I wanted to have the other pair as a playful ski in the trees, mogguls, jumps and what not in the sous bois.

I hate to say it cause r/skiing but bentchetlers are super fun tree skis and have a stiff enough tail to rip around the mtn plus enough width and rocker to have fun in pow atleast the minor stuff the east coast usually gets

Another Thing, I got some guy that wants to sell me a pair of Atomic Infamous for 150 and they havent even been punched yet. So its HUGE under my budget. But im not sure how they will preform in the trees and with bumps.

Harder to do in Canada, especially if he's actually on the east coast in the maritimes. Not as big a skiing population and people with twintips out here tend to use them until they break.

OP the ARV 96 with Pivots is the move! You could look at Surface too, they are mad cheap. I ski Faction Prodigy 1.0s in the 188 length and they're a perfect do it all ski for the maritimes/NFLD skiing

I live in Montreal, so mostly its all Quebec Skiing. But i think it will be between the Infamous and the ARV 96's. If i get the Infamous, that means im going to spend on good boots and binding.

Good boots that fit well are the most important part of the equation, good bindings second most important, skis are the least important.
