I'm looking for a playful park ski that can handle pretty much everything that I throw at hit, butters etc.
I spend about 90% of my time in the park and the rest just all over the mountain.
Should I go for the prodigy line or the candide line?

anders_akinda tough, you need to tell us more, widths etc, because this years CT 2.0 is pretty damn stiff, heavy, chargy, 2022 will be lighter, 2020 much lighter, prodigys also has some changes for 2020 2021 2022
BigBangOofSkier@anders_a Im looking at the Candide 1.0 20/21 and the prodigy 1.0 20/21
animatorProdigy is more fun, the 20/21 Candide 1 and 2 are really stiff and heavy so they’re not nearly as fun as they used to be. I have a 17/18 CT 1.0 and it’s arguably my favorite ski ever, but the new ones (which, admittedly, are more durable) are not as fun and are a lot more work to throw around. The Prodigy 1.0 and 2.0 are awesome though, they struck a really good blend of stability and playfulness. Plus the edges are 2.5mm, so with a light detune they’ll last you if you’re skiing rails.
.nastyYeah I haven't had a single customer bring back the CT 2.0 demo with good things to say about, none of us at the shop like it either. Faction ruined that line.

animatorIt’s so sad to me. They really did try and take into account all of our complaints about durability, but if they had just slapped the edges and top sheet material from the Prodigy on the new CT 1.0 and 2.0 I woulda been more than stoked. The new 2.0 especially is sick if you like to charge but it was famous for being so easy to bend and press but still not be a wet noodle. Real pity IMO, it’s supposed to lose the metal next season but I doubt it’ll be that different
.nastyWell that’s just it, the prodigy can charge very well as is and was a great contrast to the playful nature of the CT. Now that the CT is stiffer it makes no sense. Not that it even matters much anyway because the old CT’s were crap durability and everyone usually liked the Prodigy more anyway.
Greg_KFaction made a wise decision to better separate the two lines apart from one another and lovers of the old “lighter, playful” Candide line are better served with the Prodigy line now or even another company with similar characteristics like the K2 Reckoner etc.
The new Candide line are now aimed at more advanced and aggressive skiers who like to charge the mountain at high speeds. Many will never see the terrain park but hit features on the mountain instead or just want the easier pivot ability of a twin.
So to answer the OP question of a playful park ski, Prodigy for sure!
My 2021 Candide 2.0 needed a stone grind to flatten the bases as they were railed/edge high and skied heavy initially. Now they are flat, tuned perfectly and absolutely RIP!
Was honestly shocked how insanely great these skis are when I finally got them in their element last week which is charging at 45mph plus all over the hill. They hit 60mph with ease, lays trenches on groomers and fly through crud like a directional charger yet are still fun in the bumps and trees. They come alive with speed and love an aggressive skiing style. I love them so much I’m pondering getting a back up pair of this years version.
I can see why others that liked the old ski don’t like the new version and vice versa as they are so different.
yhprum1720Thoughts on the CT 2.0 vs the Ranger 102 FR?
Greg_KFisher 102 FR is a bit stiffer throughout, longer tip rocker(excellent for going over crud) and a bit less tail rocker/rise, a hair less taper and about 150grams lighter.
Fisher is more precise and lively, the Candide more damp and solid feeling. Both carve amazing at high speeds with great edge grip with the Candide feeling even more at ease at speed over rough terrain. With the stiffer flex, the Fisher a little less forgiving in bumps or trees and the Candide a hair easier to pivot. I’d choose the Fisher if I was going to tour with it too.
Own the Enforcer 104 too and the Candide 2.0 is kinda in-between the Fisher and Enforcer in flex but damper and more powerful than either. Candide the narrowest of the group so I assume float won’t be quite as good though. All 3 are great skis.
