You're probably right. The weird thing is that I don't get that sensation on my Magnus (although there is definitely a big difference between natty landing and park landings) - I wonder if the difference there is just that little bit of extra camber underfoot + a true center mount as compared 1.5 back.

You could be right, I’ve noticed I wheelie a little Bit when landing on my mags if im
going fast and leaning backwards as shown:

Here I disastered a flat down and I felt I was wheeling a lot more than it looks and I assume it’s because of the rocker

I swear magnus’s are hella stiff

Maybe switch to woodsman 108s and move the mount up a few cm? You could also size up on the kartels
edit: I say that because idk if a 5% increase in stiffness will entirely satiate your want for a burlier ski

charliexmHey Guys - I currently ride a Jeffrey 108 as my daily driver (will ride everything from steeps to groomers to rails on a regular day). They are a bit beat so I was going to put some Shifts on them and then stick my pivots on a new pair of Jeffreys. I mostly ride at Squaw Valley/Alpine meadows and was considering splurging on the customs with stiffer flex due to the snow that we get in Tahoe + the terrain at these resorts. Has anybody ridden these and have any feedback?

I like to jib around - lots of butters and presses - but do sometimes find myself folding the tails out at times when landing backseat on backies or really any trick bigger than a 3 (lol). ON3P customer support basically said that the stiffer is only about 5 percent stiffer than the regular layup so would assume they'd still be find for flexing the skis out but just wanted to get some user feedback on if they are still jibb-able/if it makes enough of a difference to be worth the extra $$.

Maybe ask Josh Anderson. He rides Squalpine. Not sure if he is on a stiffer layup.

I daily a pair of custom stiffer K108, however it is from some years back when flex adjustment was still done by adding fibre glass and carbon. I'd say the ski is the second hardest flexing in my quiver after my super goats but I don't think it necessarily feels to stiff when skiing on it. The biggest difference is that it is really heavy (heavier than the standard layup K116 I have) and takes quite some speed to come alive. But, and here the fun begins, it is extremely damp and holds and edge way better than the K108 I had before it. It also doesn't really have a speed limit and absolutely stomps cliffs. So yeah, the only downside to it is that it is a little more work in tight spaces or at lower speeds and that due to its weight feels harder to spin around in the air (still everything up to 7 is chill on them). As far as wheelies on landings are concerned I'd say the flex helps quite a bit but due to the large amount of tail rocker you of course won't be as stable as on Wrenegades or Goats.

I do believe though that from this season onwards ON3P does all the flex changes directly on the core of the ski (making the core thicker etc.) and therefore the weight increase may be a bit less and the skis may behave somewhat different from my version.

Still, I'd say go for it. They are my favourite skis so far and never let me down.

Bro this is super helpful, you migh've just convinced me. Are you able to press them into a butter with a little bit of speed? My thoughts are that with the low camber + tip rocker it shouldn't be an issue to use the shape of the ski more than the flex (idk if how I just explained that makes any sense).

Of course with a softer flexing ski butters will be easier but yes I think they are still very much doable on the K108 with the stiffer layup. The thing though is that the butter will mostly come from the deeper rocker lines and not that much from the skis flex, which is a problem at lower speeds but once you're going fast enough you'll get lots of pop out of the ski.

So yes butters are totally doable, I think that they just take a little more commitment and speed than on softer skis.
