What are these small pegs inside my boot

I pulled the liners out of my boots to dry and these little pegs were floating around in my right boot under the liner...did I so something terrible...

ETA: belatedly realizing I should’ve put this in the “what’s wrong with my boots” thread but unfortunately I never learned how to read

Those are the flux capacitors which adjust the perambulation of the plumbus

You did nothing wrong.

When buckles get riveted onto the shell, they are often punched directly through the plastic and these little bits of plastic are left behind. They should get cleaned out, but sometimes they hang onto the shell by a thread, aren't picked off, and come loose when the liner goes in.

Keep them for good luck.
