I see people smoking joints all the time when skiing but I feel like it might just make it harder to ski, but people seem to like it, idk i’m curious to hear what ns thinks
If you smoke a lot of weed and also ski a lot they can go hand and hand quite nicely. I also know a lot of people who like to smoke but don’t as much and won’t smoke skiing because they just can’t handle it, which I totally get. It’s all personal preference and is typically based on tolerance.
Has anyone ever skiied while on cough medicine like NyQuil? That stuff always makes me feel like I’m just floating in space, I think it would feel cool while skiing. Idk about driving to the hill on it though
I’ll sometimes smoke a little bit of weed to the point where i don’t really feel “high” but i feel more relaxed and creative and focused, and i feel like that might be cool because i always overthink and then i get salty because i fuck it up, but also you never know what the weed is gonna be like in wisconsin
I have to start off my day sober or else I ski like shit. After a few hours when the coffee is wearing off and the lift lines are fucked then that’s my queue to hike to the local smoke shack and take some rips. The first session I take it easy and just take a few hits. I’ll continue skiing for about an hour or 2 and that’s when I’ll ski the best I’ve skied all day. After that I’ll go back for the second session, get fried, drink a few beers. Skiing after the second session usually just ends in grass runs, hill bombs, and overshooting things that weren’t made to be jumped off of.
I smoke before i go and not anymore throughout the day. Usually I'll drink a few beers for lunch. The slight buzz amplifies the rush of skiing nicely without compromising my coherence.
Back in college I skied high every time I went up and loved every minute of it. When I smoke and ski I dont have any ego and I see the mountain as one continues flow instead of just a feature here then ski over and hit the feature over here. I dont ski park though and being high in the park is sketchy for sure. There have been a few times where your stoned off your ass at the top of a sketchy line and it gets a little intense but by your third turn the adrenaline kicks in and its all good from there.
One time i took an edible right when we got to the parking lot. After waiting for more behinner friends, holiday lift lines, and a ride across the mountain, I arrived at the park. I went to just hit this 10' small tube that was raised up, super casually, and suddenly caught my tip and landed on my knee on the rail. It barely hurt. I didnt even feel high but that's how i knew i was. The rest of the day i was so tired. Skiing on edibles is not the move
Would recommend if you enjoy weed. I have found that skiing is so deeply engrained into myself that I can ski well even ripped, however I have found I'm less likely to try new airs of I'm like 10/10 high. I like to start skiing at opening then smoke at like 12-2 when I'm a little tired, gives me a nice boost and gives me energy (I do that if I plan on smoking). Interestingly when I get high I can only ski with about 100% intensity, I get too excited to ski and I can only go balls to the wall (energy wise). I will say though, when I finish the day after skiing high I am always fucking beat.
I will add this. Skiing super high is the most amazing experience. Walking back into the crowded lodge and pulling off your ski goggles is the most terrifying experience.

I usually don't put in eye drops when I ski and I remember a week or so ago I pulled up my goggles in the liftline and my eyes were fuckin RED. Unfortunately I didn't realize that until someone on the lift mentioned weed lmao
Makes me lazy and ruins my balance which makes skiing park pretty boring. I generally dislike physical activity while high so skiing pow high is just way too much work. Can be fun to get blazed on a sunny day and just take some flow laps though.

Depends on the individual, I can smoke 10 blunts and ski, run a salt truck, or pound a bag o chips, lift, mountain bike or maybe chill , 1 vodka with a beer back and I won’t land a damn thing , I’ll get back seat a lot, catch edges and just eat shit all over the mountain then take a pain nap and not ski the next day

This reminds me of a story when I moved to Utah from Colorado and got a Snowbird pass. I was used to CO where I smoked all the time and skied high and it was basically accepted. Utah of course is a different story. Anyway, I was hiking along a rock outcrop on the knucklehead traverse and decided to take a break to light my chillum thinking I was the only one out there.
I inhale a nice big hit then suddenly out of nowhere this 12 yr old kid just shows up from around the corner and just stands there looking at me. I was dying at this point thinking for sure his Dad was right behind him and I was holding a fat load of weed smoke in my lungs. Finally, I got this idea and turned over and stuffed my face in the snow and blew all the smoke into about 5'' of fresh pow and it actually absorbed it all.
Then I kind of looked back at the kid who was just staring at me and quietly put my skis back on, slipped my chillum back in my pocket and headed down the slope. I was paranoid AF the next couple of runs then it was cool.

Safety talks are an essential part of the sport. "Hey man, You're looking pretty unsafe in that mogul field, how about we go have a talk in the woods and get more safe"

One of my favorite parts is scoping out little zones right off the trail behind a tree or rock or something where nobody can see you. (I'm also usually wearing black or camo which helps) Feels stealthy and is always nice to actually be able to chill for a sec before clicking back in.

Deff lit up in there many times, but I get nervous because there's often kids and parents around having lunch or checking it out.
Lol one time my friend and I were walking back out to Sunset and this tourist-Dad comes up to us with his kids and was like "Hey! How is it back there, are there any cool birds" We were freshly roasted and couldnt put two words together. Dad clearly realizes this and just goes "...oh...you weren't looking at the birds, were you?" and we ski away.

I mean i'll have a puff or two every now and then if I just wanna take cruuuuzin laps, but skiing high honestly isn't my favorite vibe, I usually pack a bowl or take a bong rip afterwards tho to wind down and get couchy
