Pondering several questions...

There's a couple of things I've been thinking about lately.
Do you skiiers out there use a stiff brush on your skis right after you wax them? If so do you know why we do this? I've heard that putting texture on the base of your skis reduces suction between ski and snow...? Is this true? If so why is it nessecary? Sounds kind of farfetched to me but if someone knows...

yah, unless you're waxing up for a race, I wouldn't even worry about it. I used to but that was when I was racing. Now, I just wax them, scrape them and ride them, it's all good!

just get a nylon brush at home depot or where ever for like 2 dollars run it up and down after u scrape and u will go faster. and smoother.

aha! My mom used to ski race and she showed me how to wax my skis....so I've always done it that way! lol

an easier and cheaper way is to go to your local grocery store and get some Brillo pads, like what you wash dishes with and 'buff' the bases after you wax. puts a little texture in it. same as what you said just cheaper.

brillo pads? what the fuck?!?! If you create swirling lines in your skis it will create much more suction than a tip-to-tail brushing.

Yes it makes your skis run faster and no it's not just for racing.

Yah, wax em, then buff em with the stiff brush for a smooooove finsh..then you'll go supa fast.

just use scotchbrite from tip to tail..it evens out the way coat and rubs it in so it lasts a bit lonket... also makes the base nice and shiny! good stuff!

since I quit racing all I ever do is wax and edge, no worries at all, don't notice any difference, it's all good. Your bases will get the hell beaten out of them eventually anyway

I do this
1.scrape with scraper
2. wax with wax
3 scrape with scraper
4. scrape with Swix hard, nylon bristle brush
5. buff with scotch brite or whatever.

excellent job. best way to do it. i took a class on it, too! :-)

if youre going to go that far with this thing, than you should also clean your bases with base cleaner before waxing.

are scoth brite and brillo pads the same thing, i think thats the things i am talking about. theyre green and rough right?

rub on wax is crap, it will all have come off after about 3 runs
