First post to Newschoolers so here it goes. Title says it all, just looking for some constructive feedback on my technique and how to improve. Don’t go to hard on me y’all :)

Thanks dawg!! I’ve been landing a few of them here and there but it’s far from perfect. It’s pretty fun figuring all this stuff out, after watching a million edits and finally committing to learning rails it’s completely changed my motivation to get out and ski

It’s in northern Nova Scotia hahaha. It’s a super cool spot, the local bike and cross country trail association bought a flat box, handrail, 2 corrugated pipes, this rail and some kinked boxes and just threw them up on a clear cut hill. We can do whatever with them it’s basically our own sandbox we
built ourselves and we can use for free and whenever we want. So, the perfect learning environment for this kinda stuff.

Looks real smooth dude! Just keep hitting rails. Maybe try and bring it back forward. Also could start working toward swaps and front/back 2s. Coming in switch. Try new things but just keep skiing. The best way to improve is time, and getting comfortable with the things that you were sketchier at, then trying something new. Rinse and repeat

Keep skiing with friends, push each other to learn new things. But always remember to have fun out there.

Thanks dude!! I’ve been getting good at coming off switch and forwards, as well as practicing frontside 270s. I’m excited to keep learning and hopefully I’ll be able to do a basic k-fed by the end of the season :)

If you're feeling comfty and progressing you'd be surprised how fast you can learn shit sometimes. Do you have a summer setup for the off season? Those can be super helpful. There have been some ns'ers that went into summer able to barely slide a rail and came out practically wizards. Worth looking into if you have a place you can put one without pissing off your parents.

Yeah literally it’s been surprising the hell outta me how fast it’s been coming along. I think one thing that’s helped has been taking a ton of random videos every time and watching them a couple times to try and actually see what I’m doing wrong. I’ve watched a ton of ski movies, edits and travelling circus so i feel like I am able to at least have an idea of what grinds are supposed to look like which has been helping a fair bit.
