X Games knuckle huck invites

Thoughts? Seemed like last year they were inviting some lesser known pros and this year it’s basically just the slope style line up.

TLDR: No swerve skiers

Probably kept it to athletes in the event already to keep the numbers down for covid regulations/guidelines etc.

yeah i know and the slopestyle lineup is weird how is jesper tjader not in slopestyle? but i guess cuz of covid they probably have to have a limit

Knuckle huck is kind of a useless competition, I think it should just be more of a "lets have fun and throw cool stuff" without the medals. I mean that's kinda already the vibe, but I think getting a medal for knuckle huck just seems a little dumb.

I think he kinda blew it on the last two comps. Maybe he felt the pressure of a comp, maybe he had a couple off nights. Either way, he crashed more than the others and didn't do impressive enough tricks to get an invite during a covid year

Oh for sure, I just really dig his style and always enjoy watching him ski. He's not a super comp oriented skier, but it sure was fun watching him compete last year.

Have you ever watched xgames before? Last year was the first time they ever live streamed anything on youtube, its always only on EPSN

Yeah I wouldnt be surprised to see more in the future, but ESPN has xgames tied up with tons of TV contracts and shit.

Knuckle huck is useless cause there wont be any creative skier like Peyben, Magnus.... Its more like a „little“ big air to just get paid for the biggest spins n flips. Really sad :(

Wouldn't be surprised if they invited athletes like payben and magnus, but they declined/didn't get invited/whatever happened this year because of covid restrictions. Along with what I said earlier, they're limiting the number of people at xgames this year, no crowds, less athletes etc so I wouldn't jump to conclusions about the event so quickly.

I disagree. Knuckle Huck is an x games comp and the whole purpose of x games is to go big and do big tricks, even in knuckle huck. How do you judge a swerve skier doing some wacky handdrag butter swerve shit in comparison to another guy doing a NB Dub 12. It would be sick, don’t get me wrong. But it would mess up the whole idea of the comp.

I think the main reason for this was because last year it was the first time I’m the knuckle hick was in skiing, so not many of the slops style skiers wanted to do it, so they could focus on the main event. But now that they have realized how big that event was they have trained all year and know that it is going to be a huge event.

seriously? did you just learn about the xgames? "big air to get paid for big spins and flips" is literally the formula xgames was built on and has existed successfully on for over 20 years..
