zdieffResolved: Had purchased the skis from REI and it was actually unbelievably easy to get them replaced. Essentially no questions asked, express shipping a fresh pair.
SofaKingSickthat's great to hear. i was curious though, did you find out what the issue was? my total guess was a mounting issue, not a ski construction issue
JeterollThat's sick! Any idea what that actually was? I've never seen something like that
zdieffHello all, I have an issue where it looks like some thin piece of something got jammed under the top layer of the ski (pics attached). It's pretty stuck in there, but I imagine I could remove if I worked at it a little. What is the best course of action? Get some epoxy in there and forget about it? Remove yellow thing and clamp with epoxy? Something else?
DensecloudsHow did you get a replacement so easy? That totally looks like user error and not something done in the manufacturing process. Are the skis brand new? How many days on them? Were they just mounted?

SharkoREI will basically return or replace anything for any/no reason. It’s part of their policy, you can return pretty much anything for a year, even if it’s used, just walk in and say you didn’t like something about it.
Also I don’t see how this could be user error, I’ve never had crap magically appear in between layers of my skis. It looks like maybe a scrap piece of plastic fell in the press when the skis were being made?

Phatboy64Is it possible it is an expanding type glue like gorilla glue? Maybe they used too much in the binding holes and when it dried it expanded under the top sheet?
